True, no argument with that, but the barracks was not exactly Fort Knox to get into, local feeling was the people that planted the bomb chose a soft target, pure lazy. Pissed off a lot people in the County, people that were not anti IRA, mainly because we did not understand your troubles, can pretty much say after that attack, they lost any support they had for their cause, no bullshit fella.
Oh ho this looks interesting. Will i go back and see what it's all.about or just jump in with baith feet? Ah **** it.
but the civi's weren't, the locals had nothing to do with what was going on over in Ireland, nor were we vocally supporting it, that would be like us beating the **** out of every Irish person in the county in revenge. Their argument was not with the public but the armed forces, so why attempt to bomb a public place in them early days. In 1989 the IRA took out Deal barracks, that time no civi's were involved, yet Deal was a harder barracks to get into!
Seriously?...that's the best response you can give. Correct me if my history is wrong but were Labour not the power in 75 and the Conservatives in 89 so what the **** did you expect us to have done
