I think it will be difficult for De Gea to turn down Real (unless he's that much of a hardcore Atletico fan) for a number of reasons. He's from Madrid so will be moving home They're one of the three best teams in the world so he's guaranteed to win a lot of trophies He'll definitely become firmly established as Spain's first choice goalkeeper He won't ever have to play in a team with Valencia at right back again The only downside will be that he'll be in the same country as his missus 7 days a week. Much harder to bag a bit of strange.
For what it's worth id love Pogba. Hummels, Coleman from Everton. Also strootman if fit. Then Cavani. Reckon that would be pretty tidy. I think we will sell de gea if Madrid want him. Falcao will go. Not bothered who else does. I'd quite happily give Nani and Hernandez another chance. Though assume we will sell them both.
Should do the UIR treble for that: Most Possession Trophy, Best Bench Cup and Biggest Budget Of The Year Award.
Cavani is absolutely dog ****. I hope reports linking us are wind ups. Dreadful player. Hernandez is gone, van Gaal basically slammed yhe door shut on a return this week but Nani has stated hes coming back. Not a bad list otherwise.
I would suggest avoiding Strootman until he has proved his fitness. The same applies to Khedira I suppose but at least he would be free, Hargreaves and Falcao are warnings as to what can happen. I also prefer my full backs to be able defenders rather than attackers in another guise so I think Clyne is a better bet than Coleman. Cheaper too.
I wonder if Cavani is the new Ibrahimovic i.e people who see him play once or twice a year form a view on him. He's got a very decent scoring record in Italy and France despite spending a large portion of his time in France playing second fiddle to Ibra and out of position. The 50 million he cost was too much but I actually think he's a decent player and has the physique to cut it in the premier league. I can see the reluctance to spend big on names though given how it's worked out this year. He'd make your bench even more expensive looking though
I don't think he's dog **** but I would be reluctant to sign another player who is currently playing in the piss easy league of France who would be shell-shocked by the intensity of England. Not saying it will happen, it's just for less money we could go for the likes of Christian Benteke, a proven big, fast, strong centre forward who is bedded in and used to our league. I would replace Falcao with him given the chance. We should also keep rvp really, can't see us buying two forwards or bringing Hernandez back.
I'd keep RVP over Falcao certainly for financial reasons if nothing else. RVP, Rooney and one other probably needed plus a youngster...Wilson? That means buying one probably, Benteke is a good shout but it'll be hard keeping three 20 million + forwards happy.
I think Rooney is best employed as a centre forward myself but should Benteke come in as a nine then it's Fellaini who drops out and Rooney who drops back. For all his raves reviews my honest assessment is Fellaini is still one good notch below the required standard and should remain to be used as and when (desperate!!). He just ain't all that in my opinion. RVP has to accept his role reflects his age and injury record. He'll get his chance here and there, along with Wilson. A stronger centre midfield and centre half has a knock on effect further up the field and means we don't need a battering ram No.10. I hope.
Hes nothing special at all. Would offer nothing to the team. He's scored 12 goald in a league comparable with the dutch league.
