442 is not going to work in Europe and our top goalscorer is in the form of his life and can he really be left out? This is a bigger issue than people might think. When Valencia returns we will have a lot of options on the wings. But Berbatov does not work to well in a 451. Rooney is in awful form and Hernandez is still to inexperienced. What will happen? I think this could cost us big time in Europe because we don't really have a established side and formation.

Rooney needs to pick his form up big time because at the moment he can't be trusted and never looks like scoring. There is no way with our midfield we could play 442 away from home in Europe or against any good side. We get over run by the likes of Blackpool for goodness sake. To make it worse Fletcher is in awful form so he can't be relied on as well.

I feel pending the Valencia return we should go

    Rooney Berbatov Nani
    Park ....Scholes...Fletcher
    Evra...Vidic...Rio....Rafeal
    .............VDS

Why play rooney on the left? Thats not his position at all is it anymore? He has been awful when played on the left. And berbatov needs rooney up alongside him to be effective the majority of the time.

Fletchers been awful this year so anderson in for him.

Its a hard one because we can't go 442 as we would end up being embarrassed. Andersons form away from home has been awful as well. I can't see how we could solve this situation because it looks like we are lacking in all areas of the pitch except the back 5. I can't see us going further than the quarters in europe with this dreadful team.

Yes our midfeilds horrendous. Andersons away form is not being helped by the fact everytime he has a great game fergie drops him for rubbish like gibson. Fletchers been crap this year, not sure why. Carrick has been one of our two best cm's but still there is far better out there that we could buy. Scholes is too old for certain games and cant play too many in a row. Obertan and Gibson are just plain junk. And hargreaves might aswell have retired ten years ago for all the use he is now.

We do have a weak midfeild.

And IMO it has to be anderson and carrick as they are the only one's who have shown reasonable form. Like berba and rooney, they need games together and fergies gotta stop changing things. We need consistancy in our teams line up.

the problem lies in changing the formation. Look at teams like barcelona they play the same style, tactics since they are aged 10 - 14 something. For us the problem is when we play in europe and even sometimes the minnows, we dont play to our strength and with the system that suits us that is with the 2 wingers and the fullbacks helping them.

    VDS
    Rafael Rio Vidic Evra
    Fletcher Carrick Anderson
    Valencia Rooney Nani

Swap Carrick for Hargreaves if we are talking when everyone is fit, but that is our strongest team without doubt.
