After the Swindon game I am done with Charlton until we are rid of the Belgians. I am not interested in coming back if he sells but still owns The Valley, money will still be lining the b******* pocket. Who's joining me?
I cannot believe anybody would buy the Club but allow Duchatelet to keep the Valley. This is a conveniently scary scenario, being championed by people who want Duchatelet to stay, or those who will only accept his departure if the new owner is a franchise like Red Bull who can simply buy success and promotions. I wouldn't lose any sleep over it if I were you.
Ron Noades managed it. I have been of the opinion for a long time that Duchatelet has a hidden agenda, he has had no interest in events on the pitch. I do hope you are right Mr Lardiman, but.................
RD certainly has no interest in events on the pitch. One novel theory is that it's Katrien Meire who is the long term project as far as Duchatelet is concerned, not actually Charlton at all. I'm not suggesting anything inappropriate, but it could be that RD still wishes to see KM make an eventual success of her career working for him, and so he is willing to allow her to make an unlimited number of mistakes in the short/medium term. There is no evidence to back up this idea at all, and it may be no closer to the truth than a hundred other theories. But it would explain why KM has not been replaced after presiding over two very poor seasons in SE7.
That theory is widely agreed with, why else would squirrel face still be in a job that has gone so pear shaped.
Such a theory is a bit disquieting, because if true it would mean that all the investment being made in the training ground, players' wages and paying the bills every month etc. is being done (indirectly at least) for her benefit, rather than primarily for the good of the Club.
Give it another week and all will be well. Last week was nothing but a red herring on the barbie. Trust in Ponders.
Well. He announced the news, such as.it was, a full day before the kangaroo photo's began to appear on CL. I'm happy to believe the Ghost of Ponders has info from 'the other side'.
I'm inclined to support Super's theory regarding the "takeover" - CARD needs to go out with a bang next week v Swindon to justify spunking 50k in donations. Just saying.
This has popped up again on CL, albeit in simple rumour fashion. Please let this happen, but with Duchatalet selling the ground too.
