This season, we can all call loads of decisions that went against us, wrongly. But on the flip side, what went for us? Snodge dive V Palace. Can't think of anymore off the top of my head.
We got away with a few iffy handballs, seem to remember one against Liverpool off Andy, but nothing stonewall that should have been given but wasn't, or shouldn't have been given for us but was.
We got enough points to be the third worst team in the league - hence relegation. It's as simple as that. Every other team had good and bad calls by the refs. It's ludicrous to blame officiating, or try to use it as an excuse for our failure to gain enough points to survive. It's the quality of the players, management tactics and recruitment of new blood that were our downfall. And the budget available to build a contending team.
I'm not blaming decisions, I'm just wondering if we got away with as many as I remember going against us.
I know you aren't, just interesting to go over the season because there was a hell of a lot of stone wallers that went against us, more than usual I would think.
Huddlestone 's red was a pivotal moment. Running midfield under Silva up until then. Didn't start a match after the card.
I think it's a good point. Every team feels their team is poorly treated, yes, and our fate is more down to the shoddy preparation ahead of the season starting, but we've had an incredible amount of bad luck this season. Even in the one game where we got a soft penalty, it was evened out within an hour because Palace got one too.
The Niasse red card being rescinded. Even though most think it was the wrong decision on the pitch, it was still incredible that it was overturned. In the end it meant eff all anyway. Just thought of the free-kick from which we equalised at Burnley. That decision was dodgy as ****, he - was it THudd? - basically threw himself to the floor when he ran out of options. It was never a foul in a million years.
The tosser that took Marcovic out, was it Gibbs, and the even bigger tosser that bottled the correct decision.
Niasse, two awful attempts at tackling at old trafford in the 0-0 (if my memory serves me right) both attempts could have been red carded

In more ways then one. If he'd have stayed on the pitch we wouldn't have lost 4-0. Which would have meant our GD and Swansea's would have been very similar going into the last few games. Then all the talk about thumping Sunderland to try to improve our GD would not have been factor. And I'm certain it was that mindset that ultimately cost us that game. Connections, James Burke.
I started a thread on this but apparently it was stupid as it evens itself out over the season (yeah right) Marshall got away with giving away a penalty at sunderland. So we've got 3 bad calls in our favour, and we'll in excess of 30 or even 40 against.
For instance, Elmo's non tackle on Rooney in 94th min against United. Cost us a point. A couple of moments like that accumulate at end of season.
Why not start at the very beginning v. Lester....Giving away a cheap pen, that seemed to become the norm. Everton's 'equaliser' at the KC..We couldn't defend corners all season...
A lot of players made crucial mistakes, Elmo was one that seemed not to have the fight, starting the season with no RB was one of many decisions that cost us heavily.
