Swiss side Basel have completed the signing of West Ham midfielder Radoslav Kovac. The ex-Czech Republic international leaves following the Hammers' relegation and a frustrating end to a two-year spell at Upton Park. The 31-year-old has signed a two-year contract with the Swiss champions Basel for an undisclosed fee. He still had a year remaining on his West Ham deal, but decided to leave after struggling to break into the first-team last season. Kovac joined the Hammers initially on loan from Spartak Moscow in 2009, and the deal became a permanent move that summer. He could now face his former club in their pre-season tournament the Uhren Cup in Grenchen.
