There's something to be said about an old star , in new surroundings . Rooney could have a massive season or two with a different Premier League club . I'd be happy to take a chance on him ... if he wanted to take a chance on us ... if were still in the Premier next season that is ... DOH ...... WAH .

Can't really see Rooney going to Swansea though.

 

The only club I can see him leaving us for is Everton, Given the fact he supports them.

 

I actually agree with Matth, in that Everton will be the club he will want to go to, if he remains in the PL.
The only way I can see it not happening is if Everton say they dont want him

 

Don't forget that Everton have the money now, also he did say he would never play for another premier league club as well ( aside from ourselves and Everton of course ). If he does leave this summer, I'll wish him all the best ( apart from against us ).

 

If that doesn't happen, I think he'll go to the MLS in my opinion.

 

I was hearing this morning that Everton have bought some land in North Liverpool for a new 60,000 seater stadium.

 

If he wasn't a Scouser, would they want him? They've got Barkley, the kid from Charlton, Davies, Deulofeu, Mirallas and probably others.

He isn't going to displace Lukaku up front, no chance, Lukaku is on fire right now.

Assuming Lukaku gets his wish and pisses off to a CL side in the summer, would Everton replace Lukaku with Rooney upfront?
Rooney's days as a centre forward are over imo. Wouldn't be a very good exchange for me.

 

I think he's probably being looked at as a replacement for Barkley.
He'll have a year left on his contract in the summer and there are lots of rumours about him leaving.
If they were to lose him and Lukaku, then they might feel the need to make a statement signing.
Rooney could do that and give them a couple of years to bring through some of their youth talent.

I can't see this happening, I could be wrong though, If he leaves at the end of the season, I reckon he'll join Everton this summer.
