As Bates would say: Leeds winger Max Gradel is attracting interest from Championship new boys West Ham. The Ivory Coast star, who joined Leeds from Leicester in 2009, scored 18 league goals last season but could be allowed to leave Elland Road in a cut-price deal with just a year left on his contract. New Hammers boss Sam Allardyce has already landed Kevin Nolan and Abdoulaye Faye this summer and has now turned his attention to Gradel, 23, after missing out on Jamaican international Ricardo Gardner. Allardyce is also in the hunt for a striker, with Demba Ba expected to leave Upton Park and join Newcastle.
Thing is for me, despite them signing nolan, you wouldnt have a clue whether you were coming or going in that team. Also i couldnt see bates dealing with that cretin karen brady and the 2 numbnuts in charge
he said he wouldn't leave Leeds this season for a Premier League club, what makes them think they, a Championship club could get him. West Ham are trying to buy themselves out of the Championship but unless they get out quick, they'll end up buying themselves a relegation spot. Kevin Nolan was a great signing though...one of the top players in the Premiership this season and West Ham have got him.
i knew the Daily Mirror was full of BullS@@t but Swansea want gradel and will pay 1.5m try 6m ...... why all of a sudden to newspapers come up with some much rubbish... they might as well just cut and paste the "football rumour" website !!!!!
just seen that this morning! There fans are like, oh yeah easy signing! Erm lets think about this. away from football what the hell would he do in wales! Idiots
So you rate him then ? well just seen that on the mirror as well, will give you pintado on straight swap, he is rated at a £7m player in some circles
stick with 1.5 youll get him for that 2mil.max he might have been worth more had Grayson had the sence to extend his contract but he didnt,,,,stick with it
Your right i think...he wont sign a new contract...so he will go at the end of next season...another stupid contract given to a young player...not sure Bates will ever learn.... Sam will happen with kasper....... the balancing act is do you keep him and see if he will help to get us up????? Stick or twist?
im feeling i need to show more respect to fellow supporters from our rivals and its Saturday and we ahve no football so until a ball is kicked im going to love everyone
I reckon Gradel will sign a new contract this season. He's said that he wants to stay and would accept a contract if the club offered him one. âThe opportunity this club gave me changed my career. Iâve gone from not playing enough to playing Championship football every week. âI owe a lot of thanks to Leeds and I want to stay. I mean that. âIâve got one year left and the club know that. After that itâs up to them if they want me to stay. If thereâs any contract on the table then Iâd sign it because Iâm very happy.â So he'll stay if we offer him a contract. What's frustrating is that we take so long to open negiotiations. Beckford only got offered a new deal when his contract was down to a year left, same with Johnson, Becchio and Kilkenny. If the club want to keep players, then they should start opening negiotiations atleast with 18 months left on the contract, and with the better players like Gradel, Snodgrass, Howson just get them on longer term contract anyway. He wouldn't move to West Ham, probably only a Prem club but I doubt we'll sell any of our best players this summer anyway.
