Somerset announced a pre-tax surplus of £330,389 for the year ending September 30, 2015, as they set their sights on repaying the outlay on a new £3.9m pavilion.
The investment was a chief factor in the county winning international status ahead of the 2019 World Cup as well as cementing its position as one of the most successful T20 venues in the country.
A rise in profitability was a relief for Somerset, long regarded as one of the most financially-stable of the first-class counties, as they showed no ill effects from the disruption caused by the construction of the new pavilion, which was completed earlier this month, and the associated reduction in seating capacity and facilities during the season

Somerset have signed all-rounder Roelof van der Merwe on a two-year contract to start next season. The 30-year-old played for the county in 2011 and helped them reach the final of the domestic T20 competition and the Champions League semi-finals.
Van der Nerwe previously played under Somerset director of cricket Matthew Maynard in the Caribbean Premier League, for St Lucia Zouks. He has represented South Africa at international level, but now plays for the Netherlands and is currently involved in the ICC World T20 qualifier

Somerset have signed experienced former Australia Test opener Chris Rogers for the 2016 County Championship season.
Rogers, 38, who announced his retirement from Test cricket prior to this summer's Ashes series, will be joining his fifth English county.

This should guarantee big runs at the top of the order

PS - Matthew Maynard has confirmed that Rogers will bat at No 3

Glamorgan say they are keen to sign Somerset all-rounder Craig Meschede, who spent the 2015 season on loan there but has one more year on his Somerset contract.
Alfonso Thomas and George Dockerell have already been released

Gloucestershire have signed right-arm pace bowler Andrew Tye for the 2016 Twenty20 Blast competition.
The uncapped Australian, 29, starred for Perth Scorchers as they lifted the 2015 Big Bash title, including figures of 4-18 in the semi-final.
Tye, who played second XI cricket for Somerset, Durham and Northants, has only appeared in 13 Twenty20 matches

GLOUCESTERSHIRE will officially switch on their new floodlights for the first time in May.
Work to install six pylons at the Bristol County Ground commenced on January 4 and be completed by the end of March, in time for the start of the 2016 domestic cricket season.
And the lights will be used for the first time when Sussex provide the opposition in a NatWest T20 Blast fixture at Bristol on Friday, May 20.

Somerset have confirmed they are "still interested" in re-signing batsman Chris Gayle despite his fine for asking a reporter on date during an interview.
The 36-year-old West Indies batsman was disciplined for "inappropriate conduct" after telling journalist Mel McLaughlin: "Don't blush baby".

Wicketkeeper/batsman Gareth Roderick has signed a new three-year contract with Gloucestershire to run until 2018.
The 24-year-old averages 40 in first-class cricket and made his maiden one-day century in last seasons one-run win over Leicestershire in the One-Day Cup.
Although born in South Africa, he is a British passport holder and will become eligible through residency for England selection in 2019.

Jamie Overton, had a day of mixed fortunes for the England Lions against a UAE XI, smashing a half-century - his 22 off the final over including five consecutive boundaries - but then leaving the field for treatment after bowling only four overs.
Overton's concern over what was described as "a foot twinge" was soon played down, but in his absence the Lions were unable to force victory as they fielded seven bowlers .
Overton hopes to be fit for the start of the five-match series against Pakistan A on Wednesday.

Somerset fast bowler Jamie Overton is heading back home after a foot injury ruled him out of the England Lions series against Pakistan A.
The 21-year-old suffered soft tissue damage during Saturday's second warm-up match against the United Arab Emirates.
Earlier in the game Overton struck an unbeaten half-century, but was then only able to bowl four overs.
"It is a real shame that Jamie will not take part in this series," said Lions head coach Andy Flower.
"He was starting to really hit his straps on this section of the tour."
Overton will now return to Taunton, where he will undergo a rehabilitation programme to start his recovery.
