Manchester City goalkeeper Shay Given has pulled the plug on a potential move to West Brom as he waits for a deal with Aston Villa. The Baggies were keen to bring the veteran keeper to the Hawthorns as they seek a replacement for Scott Carson following his move to Turkish side Bursaspor. But 35-year-old Given rejected the move and is holding out for Villa boss Alex McLeish to meet his asking price. Villa have already made a bid of £3 million for the Republic of Ireland international, but City want £5 million for their reserve keeper. Given, stuck behind England keeper Joe Hart in the Eastlands pecking order, has set his heart on a move to Villa Park.
