Just about his aims for FC, remaining in the top four RL clubs every season, increasing support targeting kids at local schools (seeing as another local club are alienating them). Said he'd love to be involved at City (in response to Chris Cooper asking), but the numbers were way out of his league and he'd only able to play a bit part in someone else's ownership.

That's a shame coz he's the polar opposite of our owners.
Top Bloke and the saviour of Hull City.
We should all be grateful that he came along.

Remember when they were showing photos from around the world from City fans when we started on the upwards path under AP? A handful appeared from FC ones. Someone reckoned they were all from Vince Groak on cheap holidays as his dad had a travel agents.
Of course Groak was one who campaigned for a 15,000 KC along with a bloke called Gardner,as that was big enough for FC and there would never be that many there for City this century and the only way it would be full for football was if Leeds United moved there. Wrong on both counts.
I contacted HDM and RH and said as they had given these two clowns so much newspaper space and airtime why didn't they contact them and ask for their views since City had seen people turned away, FC had over 15,000 for games not involving Rovers and there had been football and RL internationals which wouldn't have come here with a 15,000 capacity stadium. They didn't or the two clowns didn't respond.

So how many of the crowd at the FC v Rovers ones were neutrals as it seems about 30,000+ go to neutrals.

That'll be Jim Gardener who was a regular contributor to the sports letters page. Virtually every week Jim was in there arguing that the rest of the World was wrong, especially Britain, because rugby league was the best sport in the World and football was only popular because it got more media coverage. He repeated this week after week.
He was also against any move from the boulevard and against the merger with Gateshead Thunder who took over FC's franchise in super league when FC were wound up and became Gateshead Thunder trading as Hull FC for the first season, although the local media ignored this and called them Hull FC. The Gateshead Thunder club were quickly swept under the carpet and forgotten about.
He then campaigned for a 15,000 capacity KC stadium and for the fans to change ends at half time.
Groak in particular was very vocal through his FC fanzine 'In all kinds of crap' about City's chance's and did indeed run an article saying City would never fill the KC and if the council want to see it full for soccer ( or footy as they always refer to us as playing) they should invite Leeds Utd to play there.

Don't believe everything you read on forums, an outsider could read posts from certain people on here and think the Allams are doing a good job.

Let me get this right: in the museum there will be a snide modern version of an apocryphal non existent scrap of cardboard from May 1980?

For ****s sake, you two are seriously miserable old ****ers with nothing else to do.

Its a bit of fun, something that a lot of people enjoyed at the time and will enjoy reminiscing about again, whats wrong with that?

It doesn't effect your life in any way, just ignore it and move on.

Because it is the sort of stuff that makes Hull look like some parochial, provincial backwater.

Haha damn those evil rugby fans with their cardboard sign, thank god those good anonymous people on the internet are bitching about them, without their input the sign will end up in a museum... Oh wait.
