probably how you think a player has a set position for life based on some criteria you dreams up and then if he's not played there he's **** no matter what.

You should be screaming can is a right back at us by your own logic... in fact you should start that campaign now.

I think you are overplaying that. The reason he gives **** to Karius and Moreno was because they were clowns playing IN their position. The reason he didn't lay into lucas on monday was because he's old and slow and he's a DM being asked to play at CB!.

I think Hendo is playing the DM role (Agreed he's more a box to box midfielder). Hendo is asked to shield the CB although it's hard when both your fullbacks and your midfield partner go bombing forward. You only have to look at how Kante and Matic struggled to cover both 2 CBs at the start of the season for us and thats with his 4 lungs. It's only after we shifted to a 3 with that extra body we've seen more solidity. Even Spurs play 2 holding midfielders to give both their FBs licence to roam (or back 3).

mates don't dog out mates <ok>

Carragher doesn't need to like mingolet nor any other current LFc player hardly. He can set to once lucas gets done.

Imagine how a spurs fan feels knowing lucas played v kane and kept a clean sheet...

But this is the thing - how often do our full backs go bombing forward? How often do we pick them out? And when they do have the ball, they do sod all with it lol!!

And I agree - the midfield is a massive problem. I would overhaul the lot.

Gini, Hendo and Lallana are a good trio just like Mane, Firmino and Coutinho; both work well together and compliment each other but none of them are world class players.

Whatever his potential for the future, Karius looked alarmingly unready when thrown in at the deep -end. Moreno has talent but the brain of a Twiglet.

Never mind Carragher, I have a great deal of sympathy for Lucas. He's a pro who will do his best wherever and whenever he's asked and it's not his fault he isn't taller and faster. His only "fault" was to have a few decent games in a position that he's entirely unsuited to which led people to believe he was better there than he is.
As part of a backs-to-the-wall defence he'll do ok, but how often are we in that position? Left on his own against a runner like Vardy, when we're playing a high line is just plain stupid, but it wasn't his decision.

Exactly. What's Lucas supposed to do? Say to Klopp "no thanks boss I don't fancy it. Vardy is too fast for me and the midfield will all go walkabout". This mess is down to Klopp and / or whoever allowed us to have no Centre Backs worthy of the name apart from Matip.

Lucas is like Dirk was. You can ask him to play in any position and he will try his best and work hard, even if he is rubbish in said position. I much prefer players like that to the ones who sulk if they are asked to play anywhere except what they perceive as their best position.

Harsh on Kuyt, he was a solid option on the right. A hard working RW that chipped in with some crucial goals at times.

It's not harsh, I thought he was a great player who gave his all every time he went on the pitch. The point I was trying to make is you could put him or Lucas in goal and they would still put in a shift and try their best. Whereas the likes of Sturridge would lean on the post and sulk.

Ah the 'even if he is rubbish' comment made me think you thought dirk wasn't good in that role on the right.

I just noticed the title says "won't challenge for top 4 until".

We are challenging now. Maybe not in top 4 but we are challenging for it.
