CATCHING UP just noticed Huddersfield made 10 changes against Birmingham ... WELL..... We owe it to Blackburn and Florest to beat Birmingham, whilst it was not their doing Birmingham were gifted 3 points maybe even just 1? might have been all they would have got! I am hoping now, a change of mind, that Huddersfield lose their play off's and do not get to go Wembley, if they do then hope they lose...............................
Sorry JGF but any team which puts itself in a situation where they rely on other results is frankly their own lookout in my book. Huddersfield's actions - whilst not 'gentlemanly' to some, are perfectly valid and I would support City doing the same thing in their position.
Yes, thought about this earlier and there are 2 sides to it. On one hand, it's not very sporting maybe and you could be forgiven that they owed it to Blackburn and Forest as well. I wouldn't have wanted it to happen to us no. That said, they already have secured their play off place and you can understand them resting players. I'm not sure we would have done the same or not.Tended to find that the team that goes up, goes into the play offs with a bit of momentum, so it might even backfire on them?
We want a win simply put,a full house of 27000 will want a win. Forest will beat Ipswich,We will beat Brum,i think Blackburn will lose at Brentford, soooo Blackburn will go down.
As has been said elsewhere, there are two sides to it. I do think a rule is required, but any punishment only being applicable in extreme cases. Essentially there's a need to protect the integrity of the league; if one side faces a club that puts out a fierce team one week, but the next that same club puts out their U18s against a rival, that's a problem. That said, every club has a squad to choose from and should be free to do so. If they want a 'hard' rule, it could be that there's a limit to the number of changes that could be made from the previous week, or at the end of each transfer window, every team needs to submit a 'strongest 15', and a minimum number of players from this list must be in every matchday squad (injuries/suspensions being caveats to either of these). I personally would favour a 'soft' rule, AKA common sense - something along the lines of: 'If the league determines that a club fields a significantly weakened matchday squad that nullifies the integrity of the league, the offending side will be subject to a points deduction' (monetary fines aren't likely suitable). The translation would be 'Don't take the piss', and without having seen the Huddersfield match, I would be inclined to say that they should avoid punishment. It doesn't say much about their fringe players though if they weren't motivated to make a mark when given an opportunity.
Whilst I think saying 'will' is being too confident in a league that throws up shocks every week, I agree with those predictions.
huddersfields was an entirely different situation - one eye on the playoffs and so did the best thing for the club, we must play our strongest team, and try to end on a winning note.
If the players are all pros on the clubs books, the manager should be able to play who he likes! Cant see Forest beating Ipswich personally, Forest are awful!
I think Forest will go. I know they won last weekend but they have been dire of late. Blackburn have hit a bit of form and might just have it in them to fight their way out. I also think we'll beat Brum.
COME ON CITY we need you to finish on a high and stuff Brum Florest fighting BBurn fighting and Brum had an easy 3 points last game gifted by Huddersfield
80 mins in and 16 attempts at goal and only 1 on target and 62% possession, we must be all over them?
why so?, they"ve had all season, they"ve failed, and been relegated, you cant depend on other teams to dig you out,
