    Half Time Watford 1-2 Southampton

That all went a bit pear shaped after the first 15 minutes.

thanks for your company BB, where is everyone today?
Hardly a 7 goal thriller. What happened to our defense today, even Gomez was smitten.
    I wonder what WM thinks!

Well we do not look as if we have improved any at the back. Come up against some nippy forwards and we look very slow.

Don't know where everyone has gone, not that they missed much.

Admittedly we played better than we have been doing, but instead of a toothless attack, our flipping defence let us down today - so susceptible to pace as they have none themselves. Maybe time to the youngster Mason another go?

Maybe time for changes at the back, like Mariappa playing more than the bit part which is being forced on him - is he only here to make up the home grown quota ? He must be an improvement on the shambles at the back which we had today.

Frustrating to score 3 goals and get nothing but in reality we didn't deserve anything.

Shame Gomes made his error as beforehand he made a few decent saves.

Midfield was awful and our strikers spent most of the time moaning.

Movement of Redmond and Tadic too much for us.

    Steve Wilson, BBCs MOTD commentator

"Walter Mazzarri's Watford look destined for another creditable mid-table finish, but that's unlikely to earn the Italian an invitation to stay a second season."Mazzarri is the eighth manager employed by the Pozzo family since their ownership of the club began in 2012, and has been wise enough not to invest too much time in learning English."A pat on the back and a pay-off is probably what Mazzarri expects in the summer. That is unless Watford should slump between now and May - in which case he can forget the pat on the back."

He has been given a three year contract, which would lead you to think that they had faith in him. Yes he has had to deal with injuries, but I really don't know what he was trying to do today.

They will take into account performances and what the general mood around the club is - Flores fell out with a few players and I don't think was too fussed about leaving.

As you say Walter has a long term contract though so they won't want to pay him off too quickly!
