I think you missed out the word 'don't' barry... I doubt they will - and I think Burnley will give them a harder match than today.
VERY well done. The man with Lawro predicted a 1-0 win for you and I thought Utd would be suffering a Euro hangover so you could strike while the iron was hot although I couldn't predict a score. 60% possession as opposed to your 40% BUT you had the ball in the net when it mattered. Again, well done, proud of your team.
You're right, BB. On Thursday, Man U lost to Feyenoord who had a player on loan from WFC in their team, today they lost to us, on Wednesday they're away to Northampton and their manager and captain are both former WFC players (Rob Page and JJOT).
Great game and great deserved win cos we were the better team. In fact it should have been sewn up by half time if Deeney had been awarded a penalty for the shirt pull early on and Iggy missed (no comment). I felt we defended better today except for that period in the 2nd half when they scored and we were really positive up front. I was worried when Janmaat went off but we got a late goal and actually closed out the last few minutes well for a change and Rooney loosing it was really funny. 3 bonus points. We have held our own against to tough opposition so far and if we continue to play in this style we should be comfy going forward. Allardice was there to watch Deeney and you should have seen the grin on GT's face at the end. I need to go and do some gardening to calm down.
Great 1st half and we really held on under pressure with Prodl excellent. Did wonder why Zuniga was coming on - but got my answer! Cool penalty at the end from Troy.. Thank goodness Ighalo's miss didn't matter!p
Jose moaning I see - maybe Britos did a foul but l suggest he looks at the marking from his highly expensive defence/midfielder for the goals.. Clearly these managers aren't learning about how Capoue now is a goal machine!
Perhaps Jose should have taken an obviously concussed player off when he was initially injured because asking him to play on could have been dangerous?
Not a foul, he took the ball first from the side and the defender got his legs tangled up with Britos. There was a 2 footed challenge in the 2nd half from a Man U player which I thought far more dubious which was not blown for.
Reading reports of the game all I can see is how bad Man Utd are, how the manager has lost the plot, etc etc. Apart from "Watford deserved to win" nothing that looks at our tactics or players. A good thing maybe, but it is a bit galling to find that we were just bit players when the global brand is around.
What a day. Great result and atmosphere. One of those days you'll remember in 10-20 years time. Trevor Sinclair trying to say Britos fouled Martial for the first, luckily Danny Murphy was on hand to rightly point out he took the ball first. Now just need Jose to see the replay...A great day!
It is great that our scoring is now coming from other sources - soon teams will forget about our dynamic duo from last year and they will be given more freedom and get back to their scoring ways
