Troy Deeney scored all three of Watford’s competitive goals against Crystal Palace last season. The Hornets have not won a top-flight league match on Boxing Day since 1986 (v Luton 2-0) Crystal Palace have won twice in seven previous Premier League matches on Boxing Day – versus Wimbledon in 1992 and Aston Villa in 2013 (D3 L2). Crystal Palace have played Watford twice before on Boxing Day, winning 2-0 in 1949 but losing by the same score in 1952. Team News to follow when available. I was planning to include some comments by Palace fans about him, but seeing their choice of language it would have simply been ***** ***** ***** &********
Sacking Pardew has got Walter worried. Might have to change tactics etc. http://www.standard.co.uk/sport/foo...rystal-palace-will-help-watford-a3426981.html
According to that article Mark, " Defender Sebastian Prodl and striker Stefano Okaka could be fit to take their places on the bench against Palace." Prodl and Okaka, who are suffering from a dead leg and hamstring injury respectively, have returned to light training and will be monitored over the coming days."
According to the Beeb, Big Sam has been appointed Palace Manager. I wonder what sort of tactics he is likely to come up with for the game.
Former England manager Allardyce inherits a side low on confidence with Palace languishing in 17th place having won just once in their last 11 Premier League matches. "I've got a very important job in stopping the goals going in at the other end first, to be perfectly honest," Allardyce said. "Attacking players when you're in possession are fantastic because this season the strengthening in that area by the club and by Alan has brought a lot of flair to the team and I think that has brought quite a few more goals than perhaps they were looking like scoring last season. "But at the other side of it is when we're not in possession we've just got to stop conceding goals and make sure that those goals we score win us games now. It sounds simple, but it's not that easy and that's what we've got to try and turn around. "[The target] first and foremost is just to say 'let's stop losing'. That's the object, to try and find the basis of consistency that brings us some results." This all sounds like the packed defence that we never seem to unlock, and then hope for a break away goal.

Best of luck, you'll need it with him in charge, he's a "look at me, I'm the star here" type of referee!
Looking forward to the game and some fresh air although I'm not as confident as I should be for a good result.
Team: Gomes (GK) (c); Kaboul, Prödl, Britos, Holebas; Capoue, Behrami, Guedioura; Amrabat, Ighalo, Janmaat. subs Pantilimon (GK), Deeney, Cathcart, Doucouré, Zúñiga, Sinclair, Kabasele A bit of a surprise there....

hello all, Prime viewing on Sky on Boxing Day, hijacked by Allardice. Nothing against the guy but we will be playing second fiddle to this story sadly. Be nice if we win well and put an end to all this hype. Am watching SS1 on my Kodi via Stealth Streams.
So the last English connection has disappeared ! 11 strangers who never knew where Watford was before signing up.
