I'm not quite sure why you're referring to the Cup Final, as the last league games of the season are the Sunday after the Chelsea game, with the Cup Final the following Saturday. The reason for it being on a Monday, as Ed says, is because it was going to be the Monday night game when it was originally to be played. I'm guessing that if a game due to be shown live on a Monday night is rescheduled due to cup ties, the contracts between the various parties state that the game has to be played on a Monday night to be broadcast.
They seem to have picked a game for each night in the final week of the season (Leicester v Spurs for example is on the Thursday!) I suspect they want to show Chelsea first incase they wrap up the title (their game away to West Brom is a Friday night before anyone else plays..)
http://owngoalnigeria.com/2017/04/1...es-watfords-first-addition-ahead-next-season/ Anyone au fait with the work permit rules?
Not going to improve our discipline record by the looks of it! Wonder what Brexit will do to how to the Pozzos like to run their clubs?
For you BB and Mark, I think that this will give you an idea of how Brexit could impact on Watford. http://fullcontactlaw.co.uk/2012/10/work-permits-for-footballers/
Not seen this anywhere else, and seeing the source I will not vouch for it. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-4409972/Watford-sack-Harry-Kewell-U-23s-coach.html
ESPN have reported it as well - citing 'sources close to the club'. Which I suppose could well be the Newsagents down the road from the stadium. It is a surprise though - I thought the idea was player development, not results, and we have seen a few of the U23s break into the matchday squad, with some getting game time.
I can't see that Uche Agbo fits in to those categories - unless the club give him a large enough signing on fee to enable him to meet the third category - High Net Worth. Mind you, that article appears to be around five years old - didn't the rules change a couple of years ago?
I was under the impression that these rules still applied, but they could change in a couple of years or ten years time.
This appears to suggest otherwise, but doesn't fully explain the rule changes. http://www.skysports.com/football/news/12040/9830536/fas-new-rules-on-work-permits-kick-in
There is a Tier 4 visa for proffesional athletes. I can't remember but I think either the WO or WD Sport gave in great detail the requirements for it being granted when discussing Panoranda last summer. I think there were 4 tests: Played in 70% of there last x number of internationals for their country. Playing in the 1xl of their current club. Plus other tests I can't renember. The back door is that in Spain you can gain residency quicker which will then allow you to work / play anywhere in the EU. What happens after brexit has still to be decided but without being political, any country we do a trade deal with will want travel & work visas included although numbers may get attached to it.
This is the rules as they stand now Not how they could change once Brexit kicks in as im not sure anyone knows what is going to happen ?
Don't quite know why they get rid of him now with 4 matches to go. Maybe he had lined something up in Australia and they got wind of it so got rid now rather than the end of the season. With the very poor results it is not a surprise.
There was a report earlier in the season about there was a job in Australia he was in the running for, although I can't remember what it was. I made the point that his wife is a Londoner and they have 4 children so it would be a huge move for them.
For some time he has had a business providing 'mobile' coaching clinics around Australia - he's going back to that, and also to establish a permanent Academy in Melbourne. I don't think his time at Watford was a waste...
