I genuinely fear we will go down, this article give me some sort of hope.... TD9 is the best player we have and great when fully fit, however, if he is the answer for England they are domed on the international stage....
I didn't expect Deeney to be called up but whilst I know Kane is injured just picking 3 shows what little depth there is in the striking role. Vardy has hardly be prolific whilst Rashford is a good prospect but been mainly used as a sub and then Defoe has been great in a poor Sunderland side but hardly one for the future.. Presume Sturridge is injured and Welbeck not much fit..
Sad, but true. Even if TD had jumped to Leicester in the summer he wouldn't have got a look in, Vardy is the darling - shame he isn't with Bournemouth just to polish the diamond even more.
I suspect part of the issue is all these teams now only play one up front with wide man helping out or a number 10 so really they are only going to choose 3/4 strikers. Deeney would offer a physical alternative but don't think the FA want England to be like - its all about the tippy tappy stuff which actually England are useless at... Never mind - saves Troy getting injured which would no doubt happen and he'd only be in as a squad filler anyway like Defoe and probably Vardy are.
Agree with that - shame for Troy but probably good for Watford. He can break into England squad next year when we challenge for a European place. I can dream can't I ?
We all know how rose-tinted Matt Le Tissier's specs are when it comes to Southampton, but even he has said that Ben Foster is the best English keeper after Joe Hart, not Fraser Forster but BF is continually ignored. Southgate is probably more likely to call up Jack Butland once he's fit and on form again.
http://www.hertfordshiremercury.co....this-weekend/story-30209526-detail/story.html Anyone come across a clause like this before? If Cleverley starts this weekend against Palace, his move becomes permanent?
If i remember rightly, Niang has a similar clause but his is goal related...i think we get him if he scores 10...seems unlikely tbh. I think Cleverley is a great addition, sounds like good business to me
There seems to be something about Ben Foster - he is certainly better than he gets credit for internationally. Sometimes players suffer from a "one bad game" syndrome
Saw this little summary of our accounts on another site: We made a small profit of £3.6m as revenue rose by £75m to £94m due to PL status . Wages rose by £38m to £58m. Other operating expenses increased by £15m of which over £9m is not fully explained other than "the football operation". We spent £64m on players and made a profit of £6m from sales- Fernando, Layun etc. We had cash in the bank at 30/6/16 of £11m The Pozzos had a loan of £20m into the club but interestingly more has happened since the year end with player sales of £25m and purchases of £55m but still the Pozzos increased their loan from £20m to £40m The Pozzos own the club via Diversify Sport Investment SL registered in Spain and controlled by Gino. Previously it was another entity owned by Gino and registered in Luxembourg No mention of any potential financial liability in respect of the football league investigation into the HSBC "letter"

Thanks for that - seems we also had to pay some money to them in respect of our promotion - I guess money in contracts to players if we got promoted.
Blimey - they won the tournament. Even after one win and two defeats in the group stage. https://www.watfordfc.com/teams/under-18s/under-18-hornets-win-japan-final
