A young Columbian defender Jorge Segura has claimed to a local radio station in his home country that he has signed for Watford. The Envigado centre-back told Blu Radio he will join the Hornets at the end of the season.
Do we now have one of the best pitches in the country? It certainly looks good from what I see. There is an interesting piece on the official site about how it has come about. https://www.watfordfc.com/club/colney-chat-scott-tingley
I imagine he'd struggle for a work permit so could do the same as Peneranda where will send him on loan to (probably) Spain to get European citizenship, then bring him back to us (assuming he progresses well enough)
If only a few make it then it is worthwhile for the Pozzos. They will not lose on transfer fees and the player will attract a loan fee too.
http://allnigeriasoccer.com/read_news.php?nid=22228 Issac Success called up by Nigeria for two matches in London later this month.
Interesting that they reckon Zarate may be fit for start of next season - apparently it is normal for his type of injury to be 6 months or more
He could play 45 minutes in one and 45 in the other I suppose - surely his '70 minute legs' could handle that?
Also good to see Amrabat is targeting a return for the Crystal Palace match in a fortnight. I like his description of what happened: "I had the ball and went to walk one more step but it was not possible," he said. "My foot was so painful, it was like it was on fire. It was a rubbish moment."
The club have confirmed the signing of Segura and as expected he is likely to play abroad for a year or so due to work permit issues. Apparently he is a left footed centre back.
Watford are reportedly keeping an eye on first-choice Portugal goalkeeper Rui Patricio. Patricio 29 was in goal as his country picked up the Euro 2016 title in France last year, and has been with current Sporting Lisbon since the age of 12. With Gomes at 36 it would be surprising if we are not looking to bring a first class keeper in this summer. Edit: Oops - see this already covered in rumours thread
Shocking stuff. On a better note: Good to see Tommie Hoban back. http://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/sp..._Hoban_back_after_four_month_lay_off/?ref=rss
