The League Managers Association’s five-man panel, comprising LMA Chairman Howard Wilkinson, Sir Alex Ferguson, Joe Royle, Dave Bassett and Barry Fry, has determined that the LG Performance of the Week Award should go to Watford for their 2-1 victory against title chasing Arsenal on Tuesday 31st January 2017. The experienced and highly distinguished panel has managed a combined total of over 6,000 competitive matches in professional football. Watford manager Walter Mazzarri will receive a celebratory bottle of champagne, courtesy of Tanners Wines, and a LG Performance of the Week trophy in a presentation to commemorate the result. - See more at: http://www.leaguemanagers.com/news/...dent-arsenals-title-bid/#sthash.l7d5M6vx.dpuf
Great stuff, but how in the hell is Dave Bassett on anything of this kind? May as well ask Fred Bassett.
As the previous thread for this appears to have disappeared (well I can't find it anywhere), I thought I'd start a new one... http://owngoalnigeria.com/2017/02/0...erformers-for-granada-in-win-over-las-palmas/ One of our players who we'll probably never see in a Watford shirt, Uche Agbo, helped Granada to a much needed win last night.
I saw that - wondering how long Kewell will last. Not just about the results, but is defeat after defeat really developing these players! A good move might be to bring someone like Luther back into the set up.... If he so desperately wants to get into management, give him a try at this level
The string of results is awful..... there is little excuse for it against some of the teams we are playing.
I wonder how much the Pozzos are that fussed given we just bring in endless players anyway for the 1st team..
Probably very little. I find it sad though. Seeing a young player come through the ranks and make it into the first time used to be a pleasing reminder of the link between the team and the local community.

What happened to that specialist medical centre set up in London? Maybe the club have looked at previous injuries where they have not operated at first like with Abdi an his foot injury which was an on-going issue and felt surgery would at least get to the bottom of the injury. Sounds like the like of Amrabat and Pantilimon are 2/3 weeks away from being fit.
Don't know really - but the article does mention that they want him away from the squad in case he gets 'bad feelings' from watching them train & not being able to himself.
Blimey - all sounds a bit precious! Mind you players do talk about the "agony" of being injured and not "being out there with the lads"
He is still a Watford player! Currently out on loan in Sweden I think. He is such a strange case, I remember watching him score a brace against Blackpool and thinking he looked alright. I really don't understand our player management.
The EFL Trophy game at Coventry tonight involves 2 clubs who have players of ours on loan there - unfortunately, Jakubiak is unavailable for Wycombe as he is cup-tied having played for Fleetwood earlier in the competition and for the second game since he went there, Michael Folivi isn't even on the bench for Coventry.
