WAS IT SOMETHING I Said?

If you read the whole of carrabuh's post instead of just highlighting the bit that you moan about, you will see it was well thought out, it was posted on a Monday, mentioned the fact that it was a week's ban THEN used the "see you next Tuesday!" Obviously Norfolk humour is a bit too clever for you lads!

I'm also disappointed that JWM has reneged on his promise to post an apology on our board as soon as the ban was lifted! Ah well, some things never change!

 

Be careful with that one mate.
People get away with it on our board because I don't get pm's complaining about it and nobody gets stroppy but be careful when you're 'on tour'
I'm sure some are offended though but don't take action for fear of rocking the boat or putting peoples noses out.
Besides, there are many other different ways to express yourself without dropping that one into the mix.

 

Humorous as you may think it is I find the timing to be a tad off. From my perspective reading the whole post it seems a bit condescending towards JWM (although you could just call it banter, depends what kind of mood you're in when you read it) and then signed off with the word ****. For you to then reply with laughter does not look good

 

Fairplay SD where I come from that word is used a term of endearment and is only used down the pub in male company or in the Sir Bobby Stand!

 

I read that whole thread too SD and I completely agree with your take on it hence why I haven't posted a thread on their board by way of apology. I have apologised on this thread and so as far as I'm concerned that is the end to it!

 

SD the whole purpose of the post was condescension, that' was the point of the final tag, that, if challenged, a cry of innocence could be called!

 

I'm just looking at it from how an Ipswich poster would read it and see it differently. From our side it seems like double standards. I'm sure you can understand and look at it from the flip side

 

I like the bit where Dave says that it deserves repping! So much for the olive branch!

 

JWM, you don't know the full story, but the repping bit was absolutely nothing to do withe the "see you"" comment!

 

But it looks that way if you're not 'in with the joke'.

I personally wouldn't say that.

There are far more entertaining and successful ways to put people down.

Lets face it JWM didn't say it because he thought it was a subtle jibe, he said it because he was getting his arse verbally kicked by all and sundry (because he was rubbish) and he had no comeback.

Pathetic for him, hilarious for us.

Well,.. there is a swear filter on this site, sections of not606 are full of profanities and offensive posts. I would say if an apology and a bit of arselicking is sufficient to get unbanned then an apology should have been sought before a ban was undertaken. Certainly that would've been Syd's approach. I think it's a shame the way the Norwich board is patrolled in contrast with the more open, laid back approach over here, but in life not everyone agrees and you will rub people up the wrong way. There is a consensus on the Town board about what's offensive and it rarely gets out of hand. The Norwich board see us as invaders who should be grateful of being permitted to post rather than welcome guests bantering and thats up to them. JWM posted what he did because he was rip-roaringly drunk, always a danger with a 24 hour forum, ive done it myself. I have to say this whole thing is.a load of old bollocks. Let's draw a line under it and move on.
