Hes surpsisingy decent in the air. This year when he's gone up for corners when he's playing CB he got on a few and had couple decent efforts as well. Won a lot in the air in front of CF today as well.

Id hope we'd keep him as back up next year but I think he'll want to be first choice on his last big contract and don't think we can offer him that.

Could be a good back up DM and do a job as long as we get a top one in the summer.

It was unfair playing him at CB so often this season, will always give his all and actually had the odd good game there but that isn't where he should ever be

I also think its good to have a senior figure around the team. Lucas loves everything about Liverpool and knows everything and always mentions that his kid speak scouse.

It was an ideal game for Lucas, physical game, no pace on show.....

It was in truth a ****ing awful game from both sides. We got a decent bit of luck in that they missed two great chances and while we had all tge ball created nothing much but took the chance and fought reasonably well to win.

But moreno jesus wept. 40k this week for that. Lol

You need a solid cohort of senior players who set the tone on and off the pitch... mangers can only buy in and prepare players, it's the senior guys who are the ones to deliver.

We need a few more senior players

poor game but who cares as long as we win like that 5 more times.
Can had another good game with a lot of unspectacular work pressuring WBA players even if no tackle actually made. Thought apart from last 10 mins as a team we seemed more composed even if created little for much of the game.

PS bet Milner thought he was a shoe in for his personal bet with Moreno for miss of the match until Moreno entered the fray and played his joker <yikes>

I'll agree it was a poor game, but thought we actually didn't play badly. West Brom make it difficult for a football game to actually happen, so attractive football was off the table.
Never really looked under threat, they had two openings but that was about it. Thought we should have scored on at least three other occasions, Moreno, Milner and Firmino (first shot).
It wasn't a free flowing game and was never going to be. The big plus today was dealing with set pieces, which WB are supposed to be masters at, everyone was dealt with well.

Milner was phooking awful today :)

How many times when he should have stayed goal side did he just get caught out easily.

West brom have really struggled to score but luckily we really gave a decent account (mostly) in clearing the ball.

One or two typical lfc half assed efforts to get it away or off a second ball but it wasn't bad.

    League is becoming a #joke

All teams with fewer than 38 points should be relegated

They win games 1-0 or draw against the big clubs. Unless you have quality players, you're going to find it hard to break WB down, even with talented players its still hard to score against them.
We've caught them at the right time, struggling to score (which they're not prolific at the best of times) and with nothing to play for. Safe from relegation and not going to finish much higher.

Think life as a West Brom fan must be really dull.

Pullis - it's not important what other people think (when talking about style)

Was only recently he was moaning that managers like him and dyche don't get the credit foreign managers like Klopp get <doh>

Regardless of the result, I'm often critical when we play badly - but although it was a bit of a grinder, I thought we handled that game quite well.

Yeah game management was a lot better today apart from last 5 mins where Moreno should have scored but both Can and Gini gave the ball away under no pressure at the end when looking for a goal rather than keeping the ball.

We looked a lot better defensively toray, they created 1 good chance which Mig saved. Other than that, we defended well, especially from set pieces.

Think bringing Sturridge on was a bit of a mistake. Doesn't put himself about, doesn't really work for the team (like Origi and Firm), never puts a challenge in and only seems interested when we're going forward.
For that last 15mins we could have used someone else who would have done all those things, it would have made those last 10 a bit more comfortable as we were effectively playing with 10 men and Sturridge doing his own thing (which he didn't do today)

To me this proves he'll probably be gone in the summer, not just his injuries, he doesn't fit the style/work ethic of the team anymore. Not one to close opposition down or generally work hard without the ball.

You know what I would have liked last 5/6 mins.

Sturridge just run the channel and just go for the corner. Nobody seemed in the least inclined to see that game out.

Firmino looked like he was struggling first half even but he lasted the game. He prob gave it away loads and was West bromsgrove most creative player <laugh>

In fairness he got himself on the pitch..... ahem Mr lallana and Mr Henderson...
