We're really painful to watch with no Mane in the side. At the moment its a surprise when we play well, not when we don't. If Sturridge is fit start him ahead of Origi, at least he has the close control and awareness to bring others in to games when there isn't much space to operate. Against a deep lying defense Origi is just nullified completely. We are playing a midfield where each player likes to take 4 touches before releasing. We switch between playing patiently from the back then chucking in a random lofted ball from midfield for one of the front 3 to chase or win, there's no real structure and our football at the moment is identical to that last season under Rodgers, and quite frankly is laughable that we've played this badly since the turn of the year and still sit in them top positions. We're crying out for out and out full backs and a deep lying playmaker just to dictate the game when its tight.
Honestly, I think you're best with a blend of ages. You need players with experience and leadership qualities. Lack of leadership shows when we can't hold a lead against a small team. 24 year olds don't usually make good leaders.
The race for 3rd & 4th place is like watching snails racing along a 100m course. You know that two of them will beat the rest, but it is so difficult to watch.
Who challenged Bayern Munich this season? Who challenged Barca, Real or Athletics this season? So yes their leagues aren't as competitive as ours and **** you if you think I haven't watched our games this season. Teams park the bus against better teams. Utd have done it all season, sometimes successful sometimes not. Sometimes we can break them down but yesterday we couldn't. **** happens. But to constantly slag players off is getting too much.
They finished much further down the league last season and are now going to win it with very few signings, It's lucky they didn't offload those underperforming players last year.
To be fair, they underperformed and it wasn't really a reflection of their actual ability. It got mourinho the sack so it's all good lol
Gini had less touches than Mignolet again ... Two things - we're either playing back to Migs and the centre backs too often, or Gini goes missing (or maybe both)
Mistakes have been made big time this season: 1. Not spending in January, esp not buying a LB and goalscorers [edit: not shipping out the ****e and not spending on quality] 2. Not treating the cups with respect 3. Not subbing early enough Problems: 1. Injuries 2. No one to replace the injured 3. Rubbish officiating (bad enough but we keep on using that as an excuse IMO) It comes down to the thinness of the squad and not realising we need personnel we can fall back on. Whose fault is that?
Not spending in January will only be a mistake if we dont get 4th. Quite frankly, we wouldn't have won the title this season no matter who we bought in January, by waiting until Summer we get a better deal and money better spent for a challenge next season. If we don't get 4th then not buying in January would have been a mistake because we could certainly have got 3 or 4 extra points from a new signing and would be safe by now.
I agree on all 3 of the above. There were mayn games where a 60min sub could have been made when guys were not run out ragdolls. I don't agree on league cup but do agree on fa cup I totally agree on january. I refuse to beleive nobody in europe was available that would have genuinely improved us.
If you can buy a Ford Focus in January or a Mercedes if you wait until summer... Which do you buy. I'm sure there WERE left backs available, ones that would improve us, but if we can get someone better in summer it makes sense waiting. No new Left Back would have made us win the league. Thanks to United being screw ups it looks like we might just snatch 4th without a LB. It's not that we couldn't have found a better LB than Milner, it's just that looking at 2018 season we're theoretically going to get a better LB now by waiting until summer. We're hopefully getting a Mercedes instead of a Ford Focus for next year when it really matters.
Problem with Ferraris are they are fantastic when working properly, but they're famous for breaking down every 2 miles. Daniel Sturridge is a Ferrari.
If we buy mercedes this summer fine.... but that remains to be seen. But seriously if you put up with a ford cortina with rust issues cos a focus rs aint good enough... they eventually better land an s class merc with amg tuning.
