Reds hero set to stand as a candidate for minnow Czech party Vize 2014 He conquered the continent with Liverpool FC and now former Reds star Vladimir Smicer is aiming to win a seat in the European parliament representing his native Czech Republic. Smicer, who famously won the European Cup with the Reds in 2005 after scoring from long-range in the second half of the final in Istanbul, is set to stand as a candidate for minnow Czech party Vize 2014. The partyâs name translates in to English as âVision 2014â and Smicer will fight on a platform to fight child obesity. On the partyâs website Smicer wrote: âItâs not my ambition to be an MEP. âIn the Czech Republic obesity rates among children have quadrupled in the last 15 years. âMore than half of the adult population of the EU are overweight or obese. Amongst children itâs one in seven. âI see it in the kids around me. Fitness isnât âinâ. Weâve got to get our kids away from their computers, tablets and smartphones and get them moving. âThis is something Europe needs to care about.â http://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/news/liverpool-news/former-liverpool-fc-player-vladimir-7115879
not sure if you are taking the piss or not, but oddly i remember doing exactly the same lol. some players you just know shouldn't shoot, but thank **** he did that day
For once, I was being serious When we signed Slicer, I was happy with it. But he was just poor IMO, injury prone too. He'll always be a legend to us after that goal though.
I could name worse players than ole Smicer back when he played for us... Plus he is the answer to a great quiz question... Which player scored in a Major European final on 2 consecutive days...??? When he scored his first it was this side of midnight, on a Wednesday, and when he scored his spot kick it was in the early hours of Thursday... My mate always asks this question when we were down the pub, without fail, we laugh at him as its the only Liverpool question he actually asks AND knows the correct answer to, as he always gets them wrong...!!!
Czech party Vize are new. Their leader has the balls to sack an idiot in a senior position only 8 days into the job and was sacked by the president. So she founded this party. This is what happens when you try clean things up. Galloway for example and Labour. Like him or hate him he as right about not getting into the Iraq war. Good on Smicer He joined a good party.
Doesn't really work on here as its a play on words: What member of the royal family was involved in professional football? Joe Royle
