We should get Venables and Alan Harris too. Unless Harris is dead. Even then, we do need another coach.

This. Smithies has been brilliant, but Ingram may be wasted as a number two. £8-10m might be good business.

Fits the business model. As far as I understand it, which may not be reliable.

I'd like to see Smithies stick around for another season at least.

Not long left on his contract though, it's the same as with Charlie, we get what we can or he goes for free later. No way he's going to sign a new contract with us at the moment.

I'm with you on this one Ted (well, baldness aside).

Ingram has looked decent without getting a substantial run in the team.

If we get a good offer from a Premiership side (it's better if we don't have to face him again this season) then sell and reinvest.

No to Villa, they're in the Championship and they are as rotten to the core as we have been (but I hope we aren't so much now) so it wouldn't be a good move for Smithies either.

If such a transfer were to happen, at the right price, I believe that Ingram would step up to the challenge of assuming the role as our #1 keeper.

Have been saying this for months....Smithies will go in the summer at the latest.
But to a promoted club or a lower Premiership club......do not think it will be Villa now..

But it will be good for summer business to say no to 4million from Villa now.

Ingrams looks as good as Smithies each time I've seen him( except for Smithies phenomenal penalty saving...which is best in the country)....and Lumley is suppose to be a good prospect...worthy of the bench.

Think he would be foolish to go to Villa, but he's a Northern Lad and obviously Birmingham is closer to home than London so it's a possibility..........but it they can be thinking of offering £9m for Horgan from Brentford we should be looking at more than £4m for Smithies.......

I think price higher for Hogan as he has longer left on his contract. Plus goal scorers always have a higher price on their head.

well only time will tell, but i would rather sell smithies than ingram because as you saw with smithies near goal disaster he dosnt have the positional brilliance of
ingram ,he cant shut down the angles like ingrim i have no doubt ingram is the better keeper,so get rid of as quick as poss
