I would be happy with a draw today too, in view of the lack of fit first choice players. I also think that the last two results will have dented confidence a little. That said, there will surely be a reaction from the team and Villa have struggled this season. However Villa will be fired-up with a new manager in charge and it's that factor which I am concerned about this afternoon. Let's hope, though, the team are up for this and that we can repeat the result of last season and nick 3pts. There, that's being realistic mixed with positivity I hope. Come on the Potters
Thank you Thank you Thank you Stoke. From Asmir to Moses + the bench Thank you , I feel so much better now , Thank you
Yup...gets my vote Even more pleasing to come back and win from 1 - 0 down. Pats on the back all round
Would have been happy with a draw but 'over the moon' with the win. A solid performance by all accounts and much needed. Excellent result with the odds stacked against us. Sweet revenge for the loss at the Brit earlier in the season.
I am also pleased that Tim Sherwood has had the grin wiped off his face. For some reason I find him immensely annoying.
glad to see a cracking result, I hope thiss spurs u all on, a great performance with limited players, ive found the delete my account button so all the best guys, apart from Nicky who is a twat, be safe and get behind the team, bye everyone and all the best.
Good result for you too, Taff. On a side note, who does Rooney's media training? He has a way to go before he presents as confident in front of the camera. Poor lad. Having watched MOTD, it seems like we deserved to win too. Bloody Tim Sherwood saying both teams were poor, cheeky sod. Anyway, what was this thread about?
Sherwood commented that he did not enjoy the match , they were two poor sides. Following are comments by me. One is poor compared to R. Madrid , Chelsea etc. The other is poor compared to . . . er almost everyone. The latter is A.V. if you were wondering. The sting in the tail is , that was us based on the performance against Blackburn. We do not want to see that abysmal level of performance ever again from a Stoke side.
I think if you look at the dates most left after Pulis went and Hughes was appointed. If I remember right we were all negative because we weren't Pulis fans and were prepared to give Hughes our support, which according to most was a backward step....I would consider that negative. Turns out Hughes did a pretty good job, technically better than the Messiah and they never returned to post. I'd live to know why?
Flouncers I was anti Hughes and to an extent I am not his biggest fan. But I have acknowledged what a good job he has done. My point in creating this thread was the self sufficiency issue. That is a reasonable question..not negativity
My point being, that the biggest negativity was Pro Pulis supporters, who refused to give Hughes a chance and when he exceeded all expectation never returned. I, like you and alot of Stoke supporters, dnt view him as a first choice but we supported him and the team non the less. We were constructively critical over the appointment but postive in our support to give it a go - we are now reaping the rewards with a better team, better football and mots importantly our highest ever finish - possibly to be replicated again this season. Our unfavoured manager is proving that he is no flash in the pan - all this on the tightest of budgets. ......and there is the link to the thread. How does a Manager, keep performing without the resources to maintain, let alone improve?
