5-0 win to go top of the league!! I went to school with Brandon Fleming's dad. The young man has been a regular since Tymon moved up, anyone seen him play? Is he decent?
I am just back from the game, he played very well. Quite small at the moment, but very quick and good feet.
A totally dominant performance by City U23's, played Birmingham off the park. Will Mannion Josh Clackstone Branon Fleming Dan Batty Ellis Barkworth Harvey Rodgers Will Annan Rob McKenzie (Ter Holst on at 45 Min) Jonathan Edwards Greg Olley Ben Hinchcliffe City started on the front foot, and soon took the lead with a well worked goal, Greg Olley cutting in from the left and hitting a good strike which took a slight deflection of their defender to score the first. City soon went 2-0 up, a corner from the right by Batty picked out Harvey Rodgers at the back post who scored with a strong header. City dominated the remainder of the first half went in 2-0 to the good. Straight from the kick off, the ball went out to the right, Will Annan cut in and unleashed an unstoppable shot from 25 yds into the top right hand corner, 3-0 City. City continued to dominate but allowed Birmingham a bit more ball but without really creating anything. However this opened up the counter attack which City took advantage of and made a quick break out of their own box which Johan Ter Holst pushed the ball passed the onrushing keeper and score into the open net. City finished the evening off with Jonathan Edwards getting his well deserved goal, who had worked tirelessly all game. A well worked move down the right and Ter Holst put a nice ball into the near post which Edwards finished off. No one had a bad game, for me Harvey Rodgers had one of his best games I have seen him play and Olley and Batty ran the game. Was impressed with Tymon replacement Brandon Fleming, still young and quite small but very quick and good control.
Thanks for the report. Could you foresee Edwards getting any first team action this season, in the FA Cup for instance?
Sounds like our youth are starting to come good. Thanks for the update! Guessing a few more of these lads will be going out on loan in January. It's ter Horst, btw
How's he doing by the way? When he and Bowen first arrived he started better but Bowen seems to have pushed on, has he had an injury that's stalled his progression?
Hull City Under-23s hammer Birmingham City 5-0... http://www.hulldailymail.co.uk/hull...9977683-detail/story.html#cYF9f28pq0YTtSpk.99
I think he has improved a lot, he has beefed up a bit but has good pace and control, took his goal really well.
