Seems that the footballer at the centre of the court gagging order is none other than MANU's squeaky clean, Ryan Giggs, though some believe it to be Scholes! Though it seems Giggsy is favourite. Now, just as his Manchester United team have all but wrapped up the league title, it appears Ryan Giggs might allegedly be that mystery man. And so, could it be that Giggs' alleged super-injunction has not only limited damage to his own reputation and ego, but also helped the Red Devils win the Premier League title? Of course, Giggs would've obtained a super-injunction on grounds of privacy, in a bid to protect his image (both publicly and perhaps even his image among his United teammates) and earnings from his workout DVD plus sponsorships deals with companies such as Reebok. But he could've also, albeit inadvertently, obtained a super-injunction to keep the pressure and intense media spotlight off his team.

After all, had he not got the gagging order, or even just applied for an injunction, journalists would consistently pose questions to Giggs and his manager Sir Alex Ferguson about the alleged affair, which obviously wouldn't go down well in the Old Trafford camp, and could've easily led to a downward spiral within the team. Giggs' teammates would've also been affected, knowing that even if they do well and comfortably beat their opponents, the newspaper headlines would be hardly about what happened on the pitch; that's when it becomes all the more harder winning games, when players know they won't get the recognition they deserve. It would've also been tougher for the manager, putting extra effort in to try and keep the players fully focused on all things football, and maybe even having to keep himself focused. And of course, other teams around United in the table would be sniffing blood, gaining extra belief in the idea they could topple the Red Devils and take advantage of off-field problems.

So perhaps a lesson was learned from the John Terry saga by Ryan Giggs and Manchester United, with a super-injunction obtained to keep the focus fully on football and the job at hand, at least until the season is over anyway. It seems to have worked, as there appears to be a real harmony in the United team at the moment, with total focus on achieving league glory. But the big question is, now this alleged super-injunction has come to light, will it affect Giggs and United in the Champions League final? - Yoosof Farah

So now we know the twit that’s suing Twitter! Giggsy's, performances lately are so good they cant just be down to yoga!! And there was me thinking for weeks it was Sir Alex, and a Viagra pill ......................

As the saying goes, "if you can`t do the time, don`t do the crime". These so called "super injunctions" are a travesty that seems to be prevailed upon by one judge only. These people, not only footballers, but anyone who is famous lap up all the adulation when things are going great, then try to slap on the "privacy" issue when things go dramatically wrong.

According to Max Clifford who represents the girl involved, she told giggs that the Sun was sniffing around and to be careful with what he says. He then went straight to the courts to get an injunction on reporting, and left her to her own devices. Apparently it was an "anonymity injunction".

Personally I could`nt care less if it affects giggs and his team or not. The sooner we chuck these outrageous injunctions into touch, the better. After all, why should these absurdly over-rich people get away without the public knowing about it. They are only too quick to display to the public how marvellous they are, so the opposite should also hold sway.

By the way, This is only my own personal opinion and is sponsored by humble pie.

To be honest with you dragon Giggs has made a right twat of himself with this, Personally he has got a phooking cheek in my opinion, i remember reading a while back that he was considered amongst his team mates as one of Fergies yes men , and was not too popular with beckham and co because he did one on a fellow utd player with his girlfriend who is now Mrs Giggs, so he has a track record shall we say. Much respect for his football acheivements, but he needs to grow a pair of balls and be a man and stop hiding behind the law courts, as a person he is quite weak , not that i am a fan of imogen thomas but she has been shafted by giggs in more ways than one on this,

I shall be contacting my lawyer in the morning to get me a super super injunction, giggs is having fook all out of me

Swain agree completely with what you say there, and it looks as if these outrageous injunctions are pretty much now dead in the water, Giggsy as Mabon has said, has made a complete Pratt of himself, and I have no sympathy for the guy or bacon face, who I'm sure won't be happy with all this, though he should be experienced with this over Rooney's little visits to the escort agencies! Must admit I laughed when Giggsy was on ITV News tonight!..................

What did Giggs expect when he started an affair with a former Big Brother contestant? This was always heading for the front page of The Sun!

It is so sad to see the disrespect shown for marriage amongst many well known figures. Marriage is for life not just for Christmas.
