I haven't heard any of those rumours, other than kaikai, but I very much doubt we could afford the wages of any of those three. In saying that, I'd only take Rhodes, not crouch nor Walters.
Assuming Murphy was our highest earner, then surely we can get two 1.5m players in from the sale. One forward, and one winger/attacking midfielder.
Maybe Adam Armstrong from the geordies, along with kaikai would be good business. I also like the look of Dack from Gillingham, but he would probably cost 2m+.
Any other rumours out there? Maybe a right back?

 

As much as people dislike it Chambers is our right back and we have cover in the youth.....so would be surprised to see a RB come in.

Will we go for a starting forward or trust Pitman and just bring in cover....?

I do think we need another winger so we don't get caught short like last season......

Oh FFS it looks like kightly and Jutkevitcz from Burnley, a 30 yr old winger that has had his best days and a donkey of a striker! Typical MM signings, an old wolves pal and someone with very little ability but lots of huff and puff.

 

Don't know a lot about Juktobittz tbh.

Apparently Burnley are signing Adomah today, so that would allow Kightly to sign for us it would seem.

As for Jutkiewicz, I think he could be a decent signing, always thought he looked promising and the fact that he has been transferred for 7 figure sums in the past would show that other teams clearly rate him as well. Given a decent run he could be very handy at this level. Though I wouldn't want to spend much on him as there is always a risk of injury given his record of the past couple of seasons.

I did also hear about AMN and Akpom joining on loan... which would be very interesting, given Akpom is very highly rated at Arsenal, many thinking he'd be getting game time with the first team this year. Apparently there are a few young prem players that we are looking at on a season long loan.. Probably someone random that we've never heard of on Wednesday evening

The one player that I would have liked to see us replace Murph with is Chris Wood, though he isn't available and would be on silly money now anyway but always thought he'd fit in well here and given a run in the team would be a younger upgrade on Murphy.

 

Also, depending on how gullible you may be we are also being linked with:

Stuart Armstrong - Left midfielder (Celtic)
Bradley Dack - Attacking Mid (Gillingham)
Lee Gregory - Striker (Millwall)

All of which would be anywhere upwards of £1 million.

[Edit] Having just checked twitter - there is plenty of noise about us having signed Dack... though I'm dubious as Brighton have already had a 1.8mill offer rejected and Prem clubs have been interested (Palace and Hull)

 

If Dack does sign, then that would be an awesome signing - quality player, who should (and will) be playing at a higher level than Gillingham.
we were allegedly in for him last season, offering £1m, but Gillingham were asking for £2m+ - be interesting to see what he would cost now.
As for AMN - that wouldn't be a bad signing. We know he has quality in him, as we saw at the beginning of last season. With him being a year older, and probably a lot stronger physically, could be a better signing that he was last year.

Basically, I think we got a good deal for Murphy, although we need him replaced. I don't think Best is the ... best like-for-like, but gives us better cover than Varney.

Kightly is experienced but KaiKai would be a good shout. Are we going to be linked with a right-back? Surprisingly, our defence seems settled, it's creative players we need! Will be keeping an eye over the next couple of days, could well be the difference between play-offs and mid-table mediocrity.

I'm not neccessarily sure it's creativity we need more of a play maker. We've got some decent creative players albeit they aren't neccessarily being used effectively. More than anything we need a midfielder who can dominate games and take the sting out of matches.

 

Lord Bendtner is apparently in talks (Not that I believe that)

We are interested in Chris Martin from Derby (also don't believe that)

Freddie Sears is on his way to Cardiff... apparently
