TBH I would have been very happy to have him at OT as a partner to Bailly but, the ankle injury coupled with the price tag has put me off. I know nothing of Lindelof (the guy we bought) but knew nothing of Bailly either and he seems like a bargain at the moment so I am hoping it goes well with the pair.
Just like I said, Southampton cried themselves to sleep when LFC announced they were dropping interest They've spent the last week practically begging us to put a bid in
The situation is VVD is simple - if it's real, he wants to come to Liverpool and will resist being sold elsewhere. If it's bullshit and becomes a bidding war, then he's a Chelsea or City player within three weeks.
Selling club. We were told (or led to believe) that if we got CL football there'd be £200m net this summer to spend. If this is true, we'll spend £300m gross this window - just isn't going to happen.
Liverpool won't be punished for the manner of their attempt to sign Van Dijk (Photo: Action Images via Reuters) Liverpool are set to avoid any disciplinary action over their attempts to sign Virgil van Dijk. The revelation comes despite the club being forced to publicly apologise for "tapping up" the Southampton defender. The Saints have not withdrawn their initial complaint after they alleged Liverpool made an illegal approach to try and sign the Dutch international
Reds launch Ox bid Liverpool have made their move for Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain. Starting bid £25M Liverpool willing to sell Markovic for £8m Reds will have to make Keita second most expensive in Prem history! Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is seriously interesting in signing Naby Keita from RB Leipzig. But the Reds will have to make the Guinea international (no 15, below) the second most expensive signing in Premier League history, reports the Liverpool Echo. Reports in Germany suggest that the Bundesliga outfit hope to scare off interest by valuing Keita at 80million Euros (£70million). The only time a Premier League club has paid out more than that was Manchester United’s £89million swoop for Paul Pogba from Juventus last summer.
So we won't be investigated now - I presume we'll now push on with getting VVD ... I hope you're all happy
Is that because despite the apology, there wasn't really a case to answer or have Liverpool and Southampton both indicated that a deal is likely and therefore not really worth pursuing by the premier league?
The apology was made simply to ensure that we can still do a deal in future. Soton were pissed off that we killed a bidding war and we're getting VVD for less than expected - then they played dirty, reported us and now we have to pander to them. **** it - pay them and get him in ASAP. He's got potential to be the best defender in the world.
No we won't.... They will NOT sell to us. They will accept 20mil less from anyone just to prove a point
