Goetze isn't what we need. He's a good player but we need 2 proper CM's ideally. One that can break up play and keep things simple, another who can help dictate tempo and be creative. Adding to that quick winger.
Lallana set to sign 3 year contract as 110k a week. Not as high as previously reported it seems. Option for 4th year as well.
that much more like it. nothing wrong with it. Sets a clear senior pro wage expectancy at the club of >100k this. He is after all one of klopp's favourites even if he's just improved this season. 3 years is also FAR more sensible given his game style and age. we need to pay well for senior players who have performed and are expected to perform to attract the better class of player and bascially that well north of 100k now.
West Ham will need be on their guard this summer, claims the Daily Express, with the paper reporting that Jurgen Klopp is plotting a "shock move" for the Hammers midfielder Pedro Obiang
One thing about Klopp is that the players he signs are usually, or often, never the obvious or those names that the papers are always tarting around
I think this is a sensible way forward for us and may be one of the reasons Klopp was appointed. We struggle to sign really top name players as they or their wives want to go to London or we are unable to match the terms from City, Chelsea, Utd etc. Hopefully Klopp will be able to buy the players he wants this summer.
I think if you look at the players he's brought in, none have been star names which exeption of maybe Mane, although wasn't a lot of speculation before we signed him. Matip, Karius, Klavan, al relatively unknown in this country but obviously well known to Klopp from Germany. Can imagine a couple more coming form Germany, maybe 1 or 2 more unknown players to bulk things up for cheaper before a couple of bigger name and value players coming in.
yeah but at the same time the fees also reflect the relative ability I am 100% sure klavan was bought as a reserve. He was bought I think as a cover player for sakho and bought just before the now infamous preseason breakdown in relations. at 4 mil odd its clear he was and still is not seen as actually anyhting but a reserve. Karius is young, he needs to do a lot to justify even his small fee also. But wijnaludm at 25mil and mane at 34 mil as big first team buys have proven to be sound and well fitting to the klopp plan. neither were german which is also good IMO. I think the press are obsessed with linking every german player possible to klopp. I think the net thats cast will be much wider.
Klopps appointed to get in the next big thing not the last big thing like sanchez. THe players are meant to become top players under him. not arrive with the egos you allude to rightly as those certainly exist. I would say that for the right player ONLY utd and city can offer 250-300k per week and LFC would be willing to pay the 200k or so required to get a top top player.... I'm not saying every player will end up on it and far from it but i can see one player at LFC being on that sometime soon.
Maybe LFC are willing to pay the 200K required but I'm not convinced that in a straight fight with your Utds, City or Chelsea that LFC would prevail even when we match wages. Until/unless we re-establish ourselves as a regular Champions League team. It's a bit of a Catch22. Not that I'm blaming Klopp
chelsea have a nice position right nwo but if you look at what they are doing they are paying hazard 200k and mr coasta 180k... now i agree with you on the striaght fight form where we are BUT my point is only city and utd are offering obscene wages and we are very competitive with arsenal and cheslea and spurs are well behind us... in wages I totally agree we must be more attractive to player but the first step imo is to pay well for performance.
Whoever we buy, it'll be interesting to see the shopping list this summer. Although if we haven't identified a LB and DCM someone needs shooting!
Liverpool are edging ahead of Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester City in the race to sign Ryan Sessegnon. The Sunday Express report that the 16-year-old Fulham sensation has been scouted by most of Europe's top teams but the Reds are showing the most interest.
Liverpool could sign Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette this summer. That is the view of French football expert Julien Laurens, who believes the striker is almost certain to leave the Ligue 1 club. "I think he will go to England," he said on BT Sport. "Whether that is Liverpool, Arsenal or Tottenham - I don't know. You will have to pay around £40m or £50m." Could he end up at Anfield?
and so his agent begins the annual thankless task of shifting the idiot who signed a stupid long term deal at a **** french club.
Just a link from lfc app that I think was linked to mirror article. Read it and didn't read too much into it as prior days saying our scouts keeping tabs on dif player few days later it's this player lol.
