The weirdest transfer window ever. When benteke is £32m, Mane is £36m, sissoko is £30m, and Lukaku is being priced at £60m ! Then Pogba at £87m is not an exhorbitant price. The football world here has lost its senses. No one wants to be bottom three in May when the music stops.
United have done great business. Instead of frittering away £350m on crap, you have got 4 world class players for £150m. You never needed £500m or whatever you thought it was to rebuild. You just needed a top manager like Jose to come in and buy 4 world class players. If you had got Jose plus 4 world class players 13/14 you probably would have won the league that season. This season with Pep at City it will be tougher.
I honestly can't believe that Chelsea have bought back Luiz. Pogba, yes, he is a young player and has improved immensely in his time away from the club and has experienced tough league and CL matches - experience that will undoubtedly benefit our club. Luiz on the other hand, seemed to be increasingly prone to errors and poor defensive discipline before he was shipped out to PSG, since when he has played his football in an inferior league. Of course, some would argue that Zlatan played at that level too, but he is already proving his worth, on and off the field. To me, Luiz seems a massive gamble.
I was spot on in saying that post fergie we needed at least £300m (not £500m) to rebuild. It was obvious to me that a manager of fergie's stature and influence would have had a massive impact and the hangover would take time to dissipate. I also factored in the wrong managerial appointments in DM and LVG. Yes, everyone here without exception said we only needed £100m at most but most did not antipate the aftershocks net spend: Mourinho: £142,500,000 LVG: £132,350,000 Moyes: £66,700,000
