Why is it that Spurs can play the ball easily out of defence, but we cause heart failure when we try the same?
Well, thank the good lord that's over. An expected drubbing, but that doesn't make it any easier to take.
I thought we played really well for the first 30 minutes and generally I think we have played better over the last 3 games. It seems WM did not pick up on Spurs tendancy to shoot long range. I am seeing better passing and more positivity up front. Now what do I say to my Spurs supporting bro - would I get away with "you were lucky?...."
V Say we were playing with a makeshift defence and the score would have been completely different if we were at full strength
Looked decent for 20 mins then Ali got a beauty and they had it easy. Hard to really guage the attack on that performance but suspect Deeney will back.
Nice little favour from Liverpool there - 2 goals in ten minutes against Stoke put us back up into 10th spot.
Makeshift defence one thing, but lack of penetration from Okaka/success is more worrying. One great move - only needed a good cross from success, low, and it would have been 2-1, different game. I really couldn't see us scoring from 30 minutes. Still, makes next week more interesting. A win and a draw from next 2 and then take Liddypool apart (well maybe). COYH
Thought it was one of those days. Can't begrudge spurs their big win, especially given our somewhat makeshift team, but I do think we were a bit hard done by as well. Nothing we did quite came off, there were far too many occasions where we should have done better. Holebas, Niang, Doucouré and Success have all had better games for us, and taking those three performances into account we got what we deserved. A steep learning curve for the younger players. I thought Okaka held the ball up well and hustled and bustled as well as could be hoped for, alas he's no MoJo when it comes t finishing. A depleted Watford side well beaten by an individually and collectively better team. We kept battling through to the end where many teams, indeed even us, would have capitulated entirely. Oh yeah, I thought the atmosphere from the spurs fans was pretty much non existent. We did our best but at 4-0.....still if it wasn't for us travelling fans I reckon it would have been a non-existent atmosphere.
