Surprise surprise, Danny Murphy's having a pop at us again It can be a coincidence but two hamstring injuries in the same game is not a good sign...I know they had a game in midweek and they’ve all played in all the games, but is it the intensity of the games or the training and the games? i.) Dembele and Dier went off with cramp, not hamstring injuries ii.) It was Dembele's first start for us since May due to suspension and being rested during pre-season due to the Euros iii.) Dembele played the second half against Monaco, not ninety minutes iv.) Did I mention it was cramp?
https://www.theguardian.com/footbal...y-kane-scan-result-ankle-ligament-damage-fear According to The Guardian we're waiting the results of a second scan but "there are concerns that Kane has sustained grade two ligament damage, which would normally require six to eight weeks of rehabilitation". Grade 1 = couple of weeks Grade 2 = couple of months Grade 3 = 4-6 months I do hope it's only grade 1, but this is what we bought Janssen for so let's see how he does now with a run in the starting XI.
That depends on how Janssen does. A few of us wouldn't have minded seeing him start the game yesterday, with Harry on the bench. Now we'll see if he really can step up.
It's a lot to ask from a new player. Kane has been Sheareresque in the past two years- with nobody else really looking like they can get goals (although Alli has done well from midfield, but he's not a 20+ goal a season player).
I'd certainly be more worried if Harry was actually playing at that level right now, but he isn't. If (touch wood) the injury isn't too serious then a short break might actually be good for him. Janssen has to be tested at some point and this situation is exactly what we bought him for.
Would Man Utd have crumbled without Rooney in their heyday Luke? We will soon find out whether or not we can win without Kane and I DO NOT believe that Spurs are a one man team as you peripherally intimate. Anyway, goodnight all.(As Dixon of Dock Green used to say.)
Le Tissier has selected his team of the season so far, while it's hard to argue with his selected team his reasoning for putting Walker in is a joke: "There's not really an outstanding candidate at right-back but Walker has been solid and has a couple of assists." No outstanding candidate?! He's blown any right back out of the water with his performances, the fact he's registered two assists as well as being part of a side who's conceded just twice so far with both of those goals not even being from open play should somewhat scream how pivotal and good he's been. Along with de Bruyne, Costa and Capoue, he's been one of the best players in the Prem altogether so far, let alone just at right back.
Being partizan is one thing. I understand if he doesn't like us but saying things like that make him appear more stupid than most people thought he was previously. That is some feat in his case.
Pretty sure he is (or was) a Spurs fan, so you'd have thought he'd at least notice us a bit more to realise how good Walker has been.
It rings a slight bell now you mention that. Being a Channel Islander, he should be Spurs - Len Duqueman, Chris Jones et al. He was also very Spursy.
The Express is saying 6-8 weeks, but this is just spitballing on their part so they get "a story" as opposed to reporting the facts.
Tottenham Hotspur @SpursOfficial 10m10 minutes ago Mauricio on @HKane: "He has injured his ankle ligaments. We will continue to assess him every day but don't want to put a timeframe on it." Well, that's helpful.
There's ankle ligament damage, and then there's ankle ligament damage!... Have to wait and see, I guess!...
Turns out that van Aanholt's withdrawal was as dodgy as it looked, though the fault wasn't with Sunderland. The FA gave them the results of a cardiological scan very late in the day. It recommended that he shouldn't play. Shoddy behaviour by the FA, as usual. Hope the player's OK, as that doesn't sound great.
