No doubt about needing Janssen SotM that was why we spent 17 million on him but so far that hasn't worked so the integrity of the first 11 should be kept intact. This is just my view SotM for all I know MP may agree with you.
I doubt that very much But if you are 4-0 up against a poor team at half time there will surely never be a better time to rotate the squad. I wasn't the only one looking through my fingers when Kane tweaked his knee early in the 2nd half...
On the the sauce after that . Kane will be a legend like my old chimney sweep mate Nobby two way stretch Hopkins . He sticks his brush up anything, especially if the kettles on . Expressive, solid , flowing football, everytime it hit the net l dropped my winkles all over the little lady's casternets. She loves Sergio Mendes and a bossa Nova around the kitchen. Keep it up Sid
My crow is very tasty when served with a 4-0 win. It's an interesting year, innit? It's seemed very up and down. The fact is it's us and Chelsea in the GD chase. If we hadn't played so many more games than they did, we'd probably be about even. We've given up the fewest goals, Kane is tied for the lead in scoring, despite missing a chunk of the season. And our lazy Dane sits by himself atop the assist list.
The importance of this run of games at WHL cannot be over-emphasised. Our form there this season has been phenomenal. 35 pts out of a possible 39, unbeaten and just 5 goals conceded in 13 games. Consecutive wins against Everton, Millwall and Soton could catapult us into the business end of the season on a tidal wave of confidence. And with Lamela and Rose expected back by then, (hopefully) a full strength squad to finish off the season strongly.
I don't have an explanation for our Stoke performances this year, but I do know what I'll eat while thinking one up. please log in to view this image
There are people in the game and in the media, who say Stoke are making progress under Hughes. I really don't see this and I'm not just basing this on how crap they were today. We ran our nuts off at Wembley on Thursday, and yet still looked a team of fit, strong athletes today. Whereas, Stoke had at least 3 players out there who were blowing out of their backsides before half time, that's how much we ripped them apart. A great display today, although there was a subdued atmosphere around the place. Dele's goal is one I could happily watch time and time again.
Agree with all of that Unless it is a derby or another needle match sunday lunch time games have a flat atmosphere in general I find.
There's an easy to follow pattern with Hughes' teams: he sees a team that won games by being politely described as not being pretty but being effective, so he decides to turn that around by getting them playing football - and the only thing he turns around is their results, as they go from picking up points throughout the season to dropping them consistently. His stints at Fulham, QPR and Stoke all reflect this.
I cannot. Shocking lack of maturity there from Alli in entering the 6 yd box ... without having a shirt and tie on.
I hope so. It was an impressive display, especially off the back of our latest Wembley debacle. But Stoke were (again) truly awful. They couldn't have made it easier for us. Everton next week will be a much, much sterner test.
I often wondered what "replica" Spurs shirt Spurcat wears to games. Thanks for clarifying this for us, hbic.
Watching the highlights back again...Adam, Shawcross, Whelan, Pieters, Bardsley all look as though they could shed a few pounds. The only Stoke player who looked slim was Crouchy It belies a poor underlying work ethic which tbh has been a hallmark of Hughes throughout his managerial career.
