Eriksen was on the radio this week. He raised that fact himself and said it was something he is working on, winning that ball not just trying to win it or words to that affect. Must admit I expected more from him yesterday. However he was nullified by Pep throwing the kitchen sink at us. So there is plenty to work on.
Credit to Lioris after having had that meltdown he soon regained himself and it was like he was back to his reliable self. Weird surreal period of the game.
......Apart from a couple of sliced distributions........ although they kinda count as his reliable self!
On a freeze frame it looked like Sterling was about six inches offside to me. Watched the Liverpool highlights on MotD and Firmino gave the Swansea player a clear push in the back for his first goal. Not even mentioned in the analysis and as predicted on here neither was Sane's terrible rake on Walker.
Not sure how reliable this is, but I've seen quite a few sources (including the ES) quoting Poch as saying that Toby's injury "isn't a big issue, it isn't serious", but added that "we will know more in a few days". Sounds hopeful. If the hamstring 'pings' I can tell you from experience, you know it has gone. I'm hoping he was withdrawn as more of a precaution than an actual injury.
Better than keeping him on guaranteeing that it went...as happened when Allarshyte kept Rose on for England when he tweaked his hamstring.
But they chatted so much **** you can not take anything those **** wits seriously ... I was expecting to find out he had his leg amputated once they said that
Interestingly, the goon Granit Xhaka was sent off for almost an identical tackle to that by Sane on Walker, save that Sanes boot was slightly higher and hence more dangerous. Jon Moss got it right and Andy Marriner so horribly wrong. .
Yaya Toure's take on Walker's push: He's too honest, he wants to be proper in these sort of games. If the lad's like that, you can't tell him he's wrong. Honest? Honest??? Is he jumping on Trump's "alternative facts" bandwagon? You're talking about someone who has spent several seasons theatrically hurling himself to the pitch in games not just under the slightest contact, but when there's no contact at all. That's not honest, Yaya!
It's almost as if the ref played the advantage, which they are within their right (and the rules) to do...
