    Saturday 27th August 12.30pm
    Premier League
    White Hart Lane

Our first win of the season is out of the way, but our results so far have been identical.
The head-to-head against Palace and Everton was identical, down to the order in which the goals were scored.
Let's hope for an improvement in this game, eh?

Our Scouse visitors have had a mixed start, I think it's fair to say.
A roller coaster opener against the filth provoked optimism amongst a number of their fans.
Their defensive frailties worried most of them, though and were exposed by Burnley in the last game.
26 shots to 3 and absolute domination of possession, but a 2-0 loss to a newly promoted team.
Not an ideal follow-up to an exciting start and definitely not what anyone was expecting.

The game at White Hart Lane last time out was something of a disappointment for both sides.
Jurgen Klopp had just arrived to take over from Brendan Rodgers and it was his first game.
His side pressed aggressively from the start and some injury issues saw us stutter into ours.
The momentum of the game gradually changed though and the new style took a lot out of the away side.
A couple of Mignolet saves prevented a breakthrough and the stalemate stayed unbroken.

The reverse fixture was another frustrating draw on Merseyside, matching that against Everton.
Early chances went to the home team and they took the lead early in the second half.
Coutinho was their biggest threat and he proved it with the opener.
Harry Kane pulled things level after Eriksen's hard work, but a late winner was denied, unfortunately.

Lloris and Wimmer are both missing through injury, while Dembele sees out another game of his ban.
Various players have been linked with moves, so we can probably rule them out, too.
Any new signings are unlikely to make the squad, either.
Might leave us a little light, as our bench has been looking in our first two games.

Liverpool have a number of their own injury issues.
Ojo, Karius, Leiva and Gomez are out, while Mane and Sakho are back in training.
    They have no suspensions.

Line-ups for each club's last league game:

Spurs: Vorm; Walker, Alderweireld, Vertoghen, Rose; Dier, Wanyama; Lamela, Kane, Eriksen; Janssen.
Subs: McGee, Carter-Vickers, Davies, Mason, Carroll, Alli, Onomah.

Liverpool: Mignolet; Clyne, Lovren, Klavan, Milner; Lallana, Henderson, Wijnaldum; Sturridge, Firmino, Coutinho.
Subs: Manninger, Matip, Moreno, Can, Grujic, Stewart, Origi.

    Referee: Bobby Madley.

Would you stick with playing both strikers for this game?
If so, then would you bring Alli back into the side and who should he replace, if you would?
Has anyone else made a case for a start?

I am away from Friday so might not be able to get on here so best get it in early...

    A) God we could play all week and not score

    B) We really needed to get a proper replacement for Dembele

    C) How have we not scored against this Liverpool defence?

    D) Janssen really is the Dutch for Soldado

    Etc etc etc

Klopp played a surprisingly strong XI tonight in the routine win over Burton; this early in the season, I firmly believe that he made the right decision: fatigue isn't or at least shouldn't be a factor, especially against opposition who apparently couldn't muster a single shot on target, whilst ultimately winning - no matter who it is against - builds confidence. I expect them to be sharper than us at the weekend having had a good 90 minutes to brush off the last of the pre-season cobwebs; but we are a better side on paper. And on any other material used for writing, come to think of it.

I am of course completely biased, but I always see Pool as a lucky side in the sense that they seem to play sides "at the right time". They get games like playing a cup finalist the game before they are in the cup final so play a weaker team etc. They get managers just before they lose their job but we get managers who have just got a new job etc. In terms of this season they got to play Arsenal without a defence and us without Dembele. Doesn't mean a jot in the big scheme of things of course, but I wanted to get my excuses in first. Particularly as I'll be watching it in the hotel bar in Spain, and from the accents here I suspect there may be a few following the opposition.

We seriously owe Liverpool a beating at the Lane.

Their 5-0 win will give them some confidence after the Burnley defeat, although I also hope it means they may not be as fresh as they'd like to be having had 4 days rest in between two away games.

    Team I'd go with:

    Vorm
    Walker, Toby, Jan, Rose
    Lamela, Dier, Wanyama, Alli
    Kane, Janssen

McGee, Davies, CCV, Winks, Onomah, Eriksen, Chadli

Alli done well when he came on against Palace and should've registered an assist when he sent Janssen through, Eriksen again wasn't at his best I felt so I'd bench him. We're lucky in that we have great attacking options at the moment, whether we go 4-4-2 or 4-5-1, whoever under performs can be replaced and if the system isn't working it can also be switched up. Depending on where Chadli is at right now, I'd be tempted to include Edwards in the squad, not sure if Nacer is unfit or just not being selected due to a possible transfer.

    COYS!

Isn't it always (except for when Carragher is in your team and the
    opponent is Spurs) ??

Liverpool have scored 9 and given up 5 in three games. So the chances of this one finishing 0-0 are excellent.

    4 vs Arsenal
    0 vs Burnley
    5 vs Burton

    Let's hope the pattern continues...

Some good battles all over the pitch here, Rose Mane should be good (seriously). Walker Coutinho should be spectacular (sarcasm).
