Unfortunately it's only goals that count. If we played like Liverpool do, I would get your point but we don't. They are everything we ain't at the moment. Attacking, quick on the break, daring, exciting to watch. We are slow and ponderous going forward. We did hit the bar twice but that does not make us particularly unlucky. I know many on here do not like how Leicester play but, in the past month (since the WBA match) we ain't been great to watch. Only 2 penalties to show from 4 matches shows how poor attacking wise we are.
We've basically just drawn 1-1 with a mid-table championship team. How did vardy and mahrez get ballon d'or nominations they're bloody awful
It was a disappointing game but it was good to see Dembele getting up to speed and Rose was superb IMO. Leicester play some good stuff going forward but are cynical in defence the ref was not in proper control of this game. We always go through periods like this, every team does, so I look forward to the NLD for the spark to our season.
I thought I was watching the end of last season all over again.Couldn't put away the little teams. Oh well.Lets try for the Football League Cup....Oh! We screwed that one up too!
I am refusing to to let the happy clappy hippy gits (not mentioning any names) fill me me with false hope. Don't people know that it's the hope that kills you?
Oi! don't you call me happy clappy you miserable grump. I prefer to enjoy life thanks, football is about fun as far as I am concerned if I want to be pissed off I'll read a newspaper.
Well...you dont sound like you are enjoying life now ... come over to the grumpy side...you are never disappointed over here as you always expect the worse...you know it makes sense
I have just opened a fine bottle of wine, I'm sure Spurs will get better with each glass. By the end of the next bottle we will win the league, just you watch.
Do I have to write war poetry too..... BOOM, BOOM, BOOM, BOOM, BOOM, BOOM, BOOM, BOOM BOOM, BOOM , BOOM,....
I've just come in with a bottle of Champer's young sir.I think I'll join you. Here's to whoever is playing Chelsea,Arsenal,City etc!!!! One glass for Brighton, though!
To add to my earlier rant..... When Vertongen or any central defender is the one providing the most likely looking attempts on goal towards the end of a game and from open play, you know there is a problem. There was a time when we were all swashbuckling attack. Almost too many very good strikers. (Keane, Berbatov, Defoe etc.) We had midfielders that would pepper shots from the slightest opportunity near the penalty area. Then, we let in too many goals and were soft in the middle. Now we are solid at the back(mostly). Tough in the middle, but limp in attack and opposing teams know this and find it all too easy to secure draws. This dance that we do when we get close to the area is boring. For example, I miss Walker's long shots that seemed to worry goalkeepers at one point because they had a habit of going in. I miss Huddlestone's or even Chadli's rocket's into the top of the net. It now seems that we are full of these piddly soft shots along the ground that the keeper can save with ease. It seems either we build up our attack slowly allowing teams to park, or we have ineffective counter-attacks because we don't have enough pace, teeth, or guile at the front. I'm afraid it'll take more than the addition of an Isco. Why we didn't go in for Mane is beyond me, especially when we consider the Sissoko signing. Plus, we clearly need a 'Batshuayi' in addition to Jansen. Three clear strikers in not too much for a team in our position. We aren't staying in cup competitions for long enough to develop these younger players to the point that they could come in and change a game like today's. Yes, we are unbeaten. This is good, but we've also drawn more games than anybody else. This is slightly worrying.
