We had one of your lot on our board a lot last year @AshfordGill but he seems to have disappeared. Hope he's ok.
We are rich in talent, with a very bright future. It was good to see all the young players get a chance and it sounds like MP will let them play against Liverpool in the next round.
No, I ALWAYS get concerned if Spurs don't open the scoring in the first twenty minutes against a team they should beat with ease.
We're a second half team. Last season we scored 31 in the first half and 38 in the second. 32% of our games were 0-0 at half time. Chill out!
I was surprised you didn't go for bus parking to start with, given Spurs are notoriously bad for being able to break that down. You were sufficiently open in formation that if you had no MF pressing game, things would transpire as they did.
I didn't know that BUT with all the chances that went begging I thought the first goal should have come sooner. Also maybe to win something that trend has to change.
Don't you think a sixth should have been added? Someone else said the team seemed to declare at 5-0 and I totally agree.
Yes that was me, but the game was won and whilst it is always nice to score more, we were never gonna bust a gut to further humiliate a team that was well beaten, we also used the time to blood 3 new players and hopefully they will all benefit from their time on the pitch yesterday.
I'm not sure it makes sense to play a full power when we are 5-0 up in a cup match. Also I don't much care when we score the goals. In my world we should be making a chance every 4 or 5 minutes and scoring about a tenth of those. I've got no idea how I would change the probability of scoring in the first half versus the second. Goals are a more or less random outcome from being better than the opposition.
Do you recall Defoe saying after he scored the fifth that he was going for more in a 9 goal romp against Wigan or someone? Right attitude. If a team relaxes then goals can be conceded. Edwards busted a gut to try and add to the tally so why not?
