To be fair you thought Musa was one of the most exciting prospects in years so your assessment of strikers has to be taken with a barrel of salt.
As you say ... bit like backing a race horse whose price has drifted ... the horse don't know it ... but I was making the point that 'flop' status where footballers are concerned, particularly for rival fans, is heavily judged on return for the money spent ... an vice versa - we send £6 million on Kante and £450k on Mahrez ... so incredible successes in terms of value for money ... One minor and somewhat pedantic point <laugh - Rashford has probably been on pretty damn fine wages for a number of years prior to his first team debut
Fossy thought Huth and Morgan were brilliant CB's Then Kante get's removed and they're both found wanting, massively!
Admittedly - scored two very fine goals against Barca in the Champions trophy pre-season and has done well in the Champions League with CSKA Moscow and at International level with Nigeria ... for us he was the most exciting attacking acquisition (potentially) we had ever signed ... prior to that it would have been Ulloa, and ageing Yakubu, David Nugent or some non-league kid for a £1million (although that's not turned out too bad)
Rashford was on £1,500 a week before he made his debut and broke into the first team, apparently. I doubt Pogba will ever not be a flop to some folk regardless of what he achieves here, he's on a hiding to nothing. Lukaku the same. If he scores 30 goals this season he'll be "£75m for the same as Harry Kane who cost nothing" or "£75m and he scored 5 less than Aguero who cost half".
The two centre backs that won an EPL title? .... they were brilliant ... indeed one of them has done it twice with different teams .... how's none EPL title winning Carra getting on these days? ... couldn't even win one with the 'superstar' that was Slippy G in front of him eh? .... but good that you are conceding that Kante has been better in two seasons than Slippy was in a whole career #LikeTakingCandyFromAKid
