On a semi serious note it shows how ridiculous the rules on bookings are. You could actually destroy the corner flag and not get booked but take your shirt off and it's an instant yellow.
Probably depends how you bust it. As deserving as it would be, snapping it as you bounced it off the ref's head would probably get you at least a yellow.
Just goes to show how soft the game has become since the 1970's. Ref's could take it back then and probably would have just laughed it off.
http://www.skysports.com/watch/vide...newcastle-united/10821106/newcastle-2-1-wigan Brief highlights. And it was a penalty. Yet another useless referee.
Lascelles defending for their goal was pee poor. Mbemba must really have cheesed off Rafa to be out of team no matter how poor the alternatives are playing.
A wins a win I suppose but ****ing hell we are **** to watch. Another borefest. Big result in grand scheme of things - it will take some ****ing up from here. Perhaps Rafa can release the handbrake now.
Rafa rarely sets up a side to be exciting, but he gets results. I think after this it is fairly safe we will welcome you back to top flight next year.
It will probably be easier to take next year - assuming we do manage to go up. Part of the frustration is knowing we are playing teams that we should be able to destroy if he would let them go for it. It will be a bit easier to take when we are playing the likes of Chelsea, Spurs and Liverpool if his style means we are competing. Plus, hopefully, the quality of player will be better and so the football should be easier on the eye from that alone.
I believe that Watford beat Sunderland I believe that Newcastle are not an exciting side This is reality you cannot just choose what you want to believe
A) Correct B) Sort of Correct - We are not as exciting to watch as often as many of us would like. Though winning and leading the league does have an excitement of its own. C) i. Incorrect - You can choose what you want to believe. People do it every day. ii. In this instance, excitement is subjective, therefore you HAVE TO choose what you want to believe. iii. Buy yourself a handful of ****ing full stops and commas, and use them now and again!! D) Just curious. Do you think Sunderland will deal as well with the Championship as we have done?
That is what I reckon. As long as we improve the quality of player he has no excuses. I realise some just want to be in the top flight, that is fair enough. I personally don't see it as the be all and end all. Its not what I watch football for. If the choice is either a manager who plays nice football and makes your Saturday enjoyable but you operate in the Championship, or a manager who bores your socks off but gets you to survive in the PL, then for me as a supporter its a no brainer. I don't pay to be bored, I pay to be entertained. I support my team regardless. Lets just hope Rafa can bring both at some stage. I openly have my doubts, I think he is quite negative. Perhaps though he is the right man for the next 5 years to stabilise the club and get us operating correctly. Lay the foundations for someone to kick on from. I just don't see why you have to do that playing negative football - look at Bournemouth, Southampton, Spurs, Chelsea, Man City, ourselves previously. The growth or resurgence was based on something far more entertaining. I suppose its just his nature though. That said his Liverpool team, Valencia etc all had their moments. They were never as bad to watch as we are. I think better players might allow him to shed this single minded **** entertainment approach.
We don't play particularly negative football. We have plenty of the ball, attack plenty, and have plenty of shots at goal. It's just our players aren't really that good so they struggle to make things happen at times. You pay to watch whatever the team serve up, not to be entertained. Also, don't you sit in corporate hospitality and therefore do not pay?
