**** me, not this is again. Totally irrelevant question. Can people stop coming out with this ****e please? Discussed in the radio phone in at length tonight, as was "we'd like a Premier League team in the next round then a Championship team over 2 legs in the semi final". Out of our hands and/or totally irrelevant.
Not bothered who we draw just want it at home. I would really love a trip to a Wembley final though. Would be a great boost for everyone associated with the club win or lose.
Glad got that one cleared up. Can you hurry back and get to Prem, feel like I'm in the rough part of town when I have to click Championship and come onto your board.
So.... I'm not sure I've ever seen a more one sided match in my life. Them having a man sent off made not a jot of difference as they were being totally dominated before then. They were lucky to get the one shot at goal they had tbf. Diame had two good finishes and one miss which was beyond abysmal. Ritchie and Atsu were so busy on the wings, just making runs all match long, and Shelvey when he came on was pinging balls left, right and centre - just fantastic. Mitro running all game long and his second goal was first class, waiting to make the space before pulling the trigger. Hayden was heavily involved and played well. The whole back four were excellent and we just snuffed out everything Preston attempted immediately. I would have to say Atsu was the man of the match for his work rate and his forward runs and supply. Hit the bar twice. Just fantastic all round.
Just imagine what the score would have been with super goufran on the pitch. Definitely double figures
What does Rafa do to that starting line up on Saturday? Clark, Lascelles and Gayle might get back in, but who to swap out?? Everyone was playing at their best.
Preston are in great form so Saturday will be a very different game. All last night really showed is we have far more depth than they do. Cracking performance and excellent win. Sending off helped but we were looking all over them by that stage anyway. I'd happily take winning something over anything else. As it stands though, we look a pretty solid bet for promotion (no guarantees just yet). The big clubs take this serious now so I'd imagine we are in for a torrid time at some stage - highly unlikely.
Precisely Preston made 9 changes last night. Lets not do what we did against Wolves and win in the cup but lose in the league
Mitrovic has started two games this season - both ended up Toon 6-0. Should he start on Saturday ha ha?
