Say the neighbours. Do you sympathise or think they are complaining just for the sake of it? http://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/ne...the_sky_above_Watford_sometimes_glow_orange_/
I am afraid that light pollution is very common wherever there is a town, not a problem here when the street lights go out at 10.00 pm. I did have quite a laugh at the comment of one local. “I’ve lived here for 49 years and I’ve never seen anything like it. I could see the whole of my garden and the birds were singing all night. “At this rate my lawn will get so high they will have to cut the grass for me.”
I'm a little reminded of the people who moved next to Highbury Stadium then complained about the fortnightly nuisance of noise and common people lingering in the street. If you live next to a school, you'll get a lot of traffic wanting to park twice a day. If you live next to a police station, you might get noise from sirens. If you live near a football club, that has massive lights, they'll be light pollution. I think they need to get a grip.
"I’ve lived here for 49 years and I’ve never seen anything like it. I could see the whole of my garden and the birds were singing all night." Who do they complain to when the moon's out?
They should think themselves lucky they don't live up here in summer when the sun still shines at 11:30pm - who would they complain to then?
