Biggest upside for Spuds is nobody thinks (correctly so) them as title worthy calibre.
They have no pressure whatsoever, unlike us.

Spuds finishing top 4 let alone above Goons is a huge accomplishment.

They've punched above their weight but this is due to United, City & Arsenal underachieving in my view.

    true.
they WILL be in free fall if they are playing for their 4 or 5th spot.
they are so ****ing buoyant without an iota of pressure because they are in un-charted territory.

I know this won't go down well but you have to give Spuds credit
They're on a great run and are worthy challengers. Right I'll leave now.

I agree. They aren't playing with a lot of pressure though. I wonder how they would cope if they were the team with the title in their hands.

    No I agree.
Poch has put together a decent side, with lots of young, English talent, for much cheaper than anyone else in the top 6.
    All credit to them.
Remains to be seen whether they can maintain this momentum in following seasons though.
A lot of big clubs are going to come knocking for players like Eriksen, Alderwereild and Vertonghen.
I cannot see Kane and Delli Alli leaving this summer though.

if they get closer to us like 4 or less points, then we might see what Spuds are made of. They will be under pressure then.

I can see the gap being 5 points after this weekend.
We will draw at OT, they will beat Bournemouth.
But I think they will drop points in the following game at palace, and it will be back up to 7.

exactly. Spuds are so lucky they will never be under any sort of pressure.
On the other hand - we are under immense pressure.

Spuds will be even more buoyant, now that Goons have virtually played themselves out.
14 pts gap with 8 games to go is too much for Goons to make up.

Don't forget Spurs bottled it at the last hurdle last season. All well and good whilst it's going well but a loss or a draw changes the dynamic massively.

Better to be talked about and hated than not noticed at all or summink like that Stan. No one mentions me. Even the fact I'm a polar bear who can understand Engerlish and type on a standard keyboard with huge paws doesn't seem to cause a ruffle of comment.

We need the quality of the other teams in the premiership. Where is the glory of winning a title against a pack of St Johnstones or Stromgodsets?

Not so sure Spurs will do a repeat of last season.
I think they will drop points, and I still think, in all likelihood, the title will be ours, but this Spurs team seems to have a little more steel about them than last time.
A lot rides on this weekends results, if we can get a win at OT, then I cannot see us being stopped.

Alonso has improved with the quality of coaching, training and level of matches he plays in. I agree he has faults but so did JT and I mean in his prime JT. We only have two Mr. Consistencies right now. Dave and Kante. If you see the little vid on Dave at CFC webpage it makes a good case for him over Kante and Hazard for POTY.

FA Cup Semi will be the game changer. Whoever wins that will win the title tbh.
If Conte persists with Cahill, we can kiss goodbye to title.

Ironic that We are like Spuds of last season - have everything to lose & so much pressure.
Spuds are Leicester of last season, no pressure & everything to gain.

Palace drawing against Foxes is good for next week against Spuds.
They didn't beat relegation yet. So might give Spuds a fight. Everything counts now.

Close this thread FFS & give the title to Spuds or City already.

Spuds will be well deserved, but they may still lose it out to City.
Great achievement from Conte to get us Top 4.
But his naivety cost us the title. Hope he learns next season, if he is still here <ok>
