TITLE RACE 2016/17

Discussion in 'The Premier League' started by Hoddle is a god, Apr 25, 2017.

  1. As we enter the business end of the season, Spurs find themselves a mere 4 points behind Chelsea, with 6 games each left to play.

The clever money will be on Chelsea to maintain their advantage and to go on to lift the title, but their cushion has dwindled from 13 points to only 4 points. Even Chelsea legend, Frankie Lampard, thinks the nerves could get to his former club, and see them slip.

As for Spurs, the pressure is off us, as we sit back and wait to celebrate St Arsehole's Day, but our lads will be careful not to bottle it in the closing stages, as they did last season. To win the title would be just desserts for a young side that is looking like it could dominate the English game for the next decade, provided that the club can keep them all together.

It is going to be an exciting finish to the season, with Chelsea leading this two-horse race.

You had to take it too far didnt you.
First or second, it wouldn't surprise me at all if Spurs finish 5th next year.
    Spurs don't do longevity.

  3. Just creating discussion points, Bodi. That's what I do, mate.

Even Adrian Durham - a man who says the words "Tottenham Hotspur" through gritted teeth - reckons that we should be a regular CL fixture for the foreseeable future.

  5. Absolutely, Bodi.

You know I never like to be anything other than cautious with what I say.

  6. Chelsea's remaining games:-

    Southampton (H)
    Everton (A)
    Middlesbrough (H)
    West Brom (A)
    Watford (H)
    Sunderland (H)

You cannot see Chelsea losing any of those games, but there is the hope that they could draw two of them.

    Spurs' remaining games:-

    Crystal Palace (A)
    Arsenal (H)
    West Ham (A)
    United (H)
    Leicester (A)
    Hull (A)

You can see us drawing all of those and even losing a couple.

Even if Chelsea slip up, they can probably rest assured that Spurs will, too.

As I say, the advantage is very much with Chelsea.

`What an arsehole you are Tyler! You had the momentum coming into the FA Cup semi final but what happened? Conte had Pocetto sussed played a weekend team and sucked you in like a sponge. Gave you possession in area's where you couldn't hurt us (and you're **** at corners) then played his masterclass by bringing on two world class players who basically took the piss.

Now you're here with another wum thread whereas you have four away games and only two at home. There's no race Tyler the Spud bottle has started to rattle and Id be surprised if you're brow beaten team can muster 3rd.

  8. Really?

At one point you were 13 yards in front of us, but we've sprinted you down to 4 yards.

I don't see the finishing-line quite yet, do you, Skiddy?

Nothing has been 'bottled' by Spurs...we have had no advantages to 'bottle'

The FA Cup is a one off, that's football.

The lead at the top has been whittled down to 4 points from 13. There is only one 'bottle' job that is on..IF there is any 'bottling' taking place this season.

Au Contraire when the crunch came you were the form team, momentum the scene was there for you too really turn the screw but you bottled it like at Stamford Bridge last year. Again you're coming up short and if we make the points balance seven after tonights game you will bottle it like last year. FACKT.

Don't be too harsh on your team...they earned that win, nothing to do with any bottling.

You won 13 in a row, doesn't mean that didn't come to an end...did you bottle it that night at the Lane?

We haven't bottled anything Tyler you are still 4 points behind and as it stands 7 points we clearly didn't bottle it at Wembley and lets see how your next two games go. I think the bottle started in West London and will continue whilst Man City overtake you.

Isn't this the time of the year when Spurs fans start blaming the the favourite's opposition for letting them win and for Pooch to start whining about how nobody wants Spurs to win it?
