    From twitter.

BREAKING: Cheick Tiote's move to China is a done deal. He has signed a two-year deal with a club based in Beijing or Shanghai. (SSN)

    Farewell Tiote.

    I'll remember the good times.

Nope, but I think the fact we're not spending money on his wages will free up the space for the second signing.

Rafa confident of two deals. Townsend is very close, then one other, but not sure who that might be. @windy, any news?!?

Long overdue, but in his prime was a brick wall.
Wish him well and thanks for some cracking memories.

About time. He was good on occasion but just as often poor. His passing was always atrocious and he was a liability injury-wise and suspension-wise. Been agitating for a move for about 4 years. It's a shame because he could have been one hell of a player with a bit more focus, discipline and better luck with injuries.

Or maybe he was just Pardewed.

Being honest he was only good for one season. I say good, he was actually Kante esque good. With hindsight we should have cashed in as he never reached those heights again. His knees seemed shot the last few years too.

Its difficult because you had HBA turn fat, Demba and Cabaye agitate for moves, Cisse pissed off to try to keep Demba, Colo agitating to go home, Debuchy wanting off to Arsenal etc etc. If they'd all just stuck together and worked hard, they could have been a good nucleus for many years. That is the mercenary nature of the PL for clubs outside the top 6 and also positioning yourself as a stepping stone to make a profit.

100% this. Money and associated 'player power' has ruined the game for me. Football just isn't the same now. Same as Payet with West Ham this week.

I much preferred it with 11v11 who all wanted to play for their club and gave everything, even IF the quality isn't what it is now - and even that is questionable ad players are just more protected these days.

I've just lost the love of the game. Yes i still watch (on TV) but it's not the same buzz with a load of over paid over rated primadonas falling around like fairies and showing zero commitment to clubs and fans.

    Sorry rant over. :)

Townsend is very very close. He has 'apparently' been withdrawn from the Palace squad for tonights game.

The midfielder - We are trying to bring someone in on loan. I don't have a name yet.

I do believe he has just got off the Palace team bus which to me means no deal. That line yet again is so hard to get over.

The loan fee has stopped this. Palace insisted we pay it.

Big Sam suggesting nothing to do with loan fee, everything to do with them resisting overtures. Fair enough. They need all the help they can get so you can see why they are reluctant.

I think they might be alright. They need a centre half though - hence the Sakho deal. Be a great signing that. I rate him.

Yeah l can just see it now.
Palace get relegated and Townsend and Cabaye come back.
It's just outrageous enough to come true.

I think the likely scenario is that Palace will, given their signings will now escape relegation. Just seen Swansea are winning again too....

He is absolutely pants from what I have seen. He might be just about ok at getting in the way but he can barely pass the football 10 yards. He looks like he has to think about how to put foot to ball for several seconds before actually putting said foot into action.
