No surprise that 1st and 2nd in the table have the fewest goals conceded after 31 games.

Klopp used to be a defender, he knows this....he sees that we don't defend well and yet we are still awful. Surely, he will spend big in this area this summer?

 

Klopp doesn't spend big (may be part of the reason your owners went for him), but I am pretty sure he will have people in mind to solve/ease your defensive problems.

 

Hope so! Your lot are the opposite, you're right on the money with regards to goals conceded.....you just need to net a few more!

 

Yep, it doesn't make sense. We have the players capable and regardless of wums and such, we create a good number of chances. The fact is the players who are (should be) capable of scoring are not performing at the level they should.

Klavan and Lovren are a walking disaster, and our full backs just aren't good enough.

 

True. Clyne is ok. But just ok. Milner was always a stop gap.

 

Clyne is a decent squad option but feel we need to upgrade. Not high priority but still needed

 

TAA will be his successor perhaps?

Well, if you look at who we've signed, he really as gone defence first... Caulker, Karius, Klavan, Matip, Wijnaldum & Mane. Only one that's purely attacking.

 

still think organisation , or rather lack of it , is as much to blame for our defensive frailities as individual failings.

 

Both are right.

Matip is very good and with him we are much improved.

However... klavan is a 4mil reserve not up to this job imo.

Wijnaldum has done well as a cm but he needs to step it up just a little.

Imo left back and right back let too much into the middle.

There is no reason for the amount of goals we conceded to the lower teams bar sillyness.
