Fool that he is. Last Wednesday, I met a chap at a meeting who had the United Of Manchester F.C. shirt on. On discussion, it turns out that he was one of the original shareholders. He had been a shareholder in that other team in Manchester apart from City but sold up when the big money came in. Of course the UoM do not have the money that Scholes etc have put into the other non league team, and so their progress is slower but it is gradual. Surprising who you meet in Norfolk. (Should really be downhampne but it is too much of a hassle to change).
I suppose the silly season is over. Mr Grayson has got his targets and needs to get them match fit and build a team spirit. It would seem as though he acquired judiciously. I particularly liked the signing of Ben Pringle. What has been striking in Euro 2016 is how many centres from wingers/full backs have either not reached beyong the first defender orr have been over hit. With the big lad he brought in, SG needs to bet the team practicing accurate centres from wings or the deep. Or the big guy will be a waste of space.
Talk about 'silly season'...the Euro 2016. Too long, too many teams and underperforming teams typified by Harry Kane. The Welsh did well in a poor tournament. Bale, Ronaldo both overshadowed by Griesman. They hardly sparkled. The 2 best players in the world? I hope not.
Watching the final last night was just about one level above watching paint dry until the big lad smacked the ball in France's net. So, the Arsenal lad hit the post but afer how many hours of the final. Or was it still only minutes? The ref and assistants played well especially when Ronnie got clattered and Clatenberg didn't bat an eyelid. A shame Ronnie had to go off, though. He might have added some sparkle. It seems that Big Sam is the favourite for the England job. One thing is sure. Every player will know in plain English what his role will be. I can imagine the cold, death stare from Mr. Alderdice should Rooney say in his scouse accent "But Gov, shouldn't we...no, I see we shouldn't!" Someone on BBC 5Live say Sam has 'clout'! I should say so.
As we need a full back Conor McLaughlan from Fleetwood linked consider we gave him away stupidly on a free we are going to have to pay to get him back
