Watched the race. At no time did I feel comfortable about MAV. Ruby won the race. However, I have to think that, had the jockeys on the first 2 been switched, MAV would have won that. Either way, not impressed and no eye-catchers there
A good couple of days for the progeny of Soldier Of Fortune on varying types of ground and over varying distances too. Soldier In Action won at Doncaster over 16 furlongs on good yesterday. Early Doors won the bumper at Punchy on bottomless ground and looked above your normal bumper horse and Tin Soldier wins on heavy at Thurles over 20 furlongs today and is one that needs further too.

Just read that Graham Cunningham is off to Hong Kong to take up a new role as advisor to the Racing Club there. Thank **** for that.
Not my half of the county, old boy. Cor blimey some strange types in those parts. I blame those large boulders at Stonehenge.
An inauspicious start for Chippenham, I must admit. However, the ‘Racing Post’ report him as being ‘very green’ and ‘clueless’ so let’s hope that next time around the old penny has dropped re what he has to do and we see a much more forward animal. Maybe, ultimately, it will be handicaps for Chippenham and he’ll have a perch in a couple of runs time. ‘What is Chippenham’s handicap’ will be the cry at that point. Although I think we all know the answer to that one don’t we regular readers…
