I think white cliffs performed because the dam was by Galileo . But this war front is not very impressive.
Well Johnston / Norton was a combo worth following at Ripon; Faithful Promise and Final looked good in runners up spot and La Casa Tarifa caused a bit of an upset in the Cock O' The North to win, with a great ride from Franny on that one in particular. Alkhor was OK, and I'm sure Hannon will use a well worn phrase in relation to that one. Coillte Lass looked good up to 2 miles, then faded. Of interest elsewhere, well Eminent must be the stand out performance of the day, plus Roger Varian served notice that his crop are in fine form with 4 winners out of 5 runners across the cards at Newmarket, Ripon and Lingfield, with UAE Prince looking strong at Ripon and the Newmarket performance of Victory Angel particularly eye catching in the opener. Lots of interest out of the last 3 days, with a few from Newmarket and Ripon that we may see at Chester in May ( hoping to see the Dascombe winner Formidable Kitt ), let's see what Newbury serves up today.
